"The hotel was beautiful. The location was great, right by a bus stop that took you easily into Lucerne and runs frequently. The breakfast was great- combination of European and American. Beautiful view of Lake Lucerne and the mountains. Cons: our room was hot, the ac system did little to cool the room, we had to sleep with the windows open and the hotel provided a fan on request. "We stayed at the chalet across the street from the reception for 2 nights. Worst experience ever. Room is very hot, dark (incandescent bulb lighting which adds to the heat), bathroom smells like cigarettes, floors creak, and you can hear everyone who comes in and out of the place. Pictures of the lodge are very deceiving and combined with the newer, more expensive hotel where the reception is. "Very nice hotel. Had a large room with cleaning daily. Antique furniture was really cool in the room along with all the other antique showings throughout the building. The staff was very helpful when we asked about what tours to take along with helping us register and pay for them. Located in a perfect area."

"Location is good. Town is beautiful however the hotel does not deserve to be ranked as a 4 star hotel due to how dirty rooms were. We had three rooms. 2 rooms had spider webs and other insects . One room smelled like a rotten cheese that the staff was aware of and changed to another room. I cannot believe that the regional health department allows this hotel to operate this way !"
