"A great location to stay for visiting Eton and Windsor. Just a short walk across the river to Windsor was ideal. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and during the stay. The breakfast was very nice and good choice of hot and cold food. The room was very quiet and could not hear any noise from the pub. Car parking was free and accessible throughout the stay which was good."

"This McDonald Hotel needs a definite updating. Much of it is outdated and tired looking. The staff and service were excellent and you can’t beat the location. The breakfast buffet was good, but could benefit by rotating items and providing more fresh fruit such as berries. The restaurant is only rated average for dinner with a very traditional and boring menu. The rear exit stair/lift is convenient for getting to Windsor Central train station and it surrounding restaurants and shops, but...

"Nice clean hotel near the castle and downtown. It’s easy to walk from the hotel to the castle, etc. They do not provide hair conditioner, wash clothes, or an use bucket/ ice machine for ice in the room."

"The hotel is in an ideal postion, situated on the High Street, convenient for shopping and within a walkable distance of Warwick castle. Choice of areas to eat. In the bar areas, on the terrace (situated at the back of the hotel) or in the main restaurant. Good choice of food both at breakfast and evening. A small car park makes it even more appealling. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel has been recently redecorated through out to a high standard."

"The staff were absolutely lovely, as was the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately the rooms are very dated, and the Club upgrade we paid for didn't feel very luxurious with lots of stains on the furniture, tile chips in the bathroom, a leaking bath, and felt like it hadn't been updated in about 30 years :("

"Hotel was tired, dated and needed a definite facelift! Our room overlooked the back of restaurants and the wind was literally howling through our room! The shower was very lacklustre with no real power. Our room also on the slope! On the plus side the staff were lovely, very accommodating and helpful. They were a credit to the hotel. Would I stay here again? Sadly no."

"2 day stay . Very bad smelling room even after 2 days with window open. Its clearly been lived in by a smoker and a sock was still covering the smoke detector. Really uncumfortabke beds and dirty stained sheets and matress. No lamps no cups, spoon or coffee. Even had to tune the telly myself. Very strange types walking around the corridors would not recomend. Staff were nice enough when i spoke to them. Im not the complaining type so just loughed if off as a bad experience never to be repeated....

"Not walkable to the castle- unless you fast walk for 40mins! Not a short stroll as advertised - it’s in the middle of an estate (not so nice ) Make you pay £££ deposit or no check in details Make you sign this ridiculous document also to say if they had to take deposit off you because of damage- you can’t leave them a negative review! Got signs everywhere to remind you not to make noise/ switch off lights etc - doesn’t make us feel relaxed Strange smell in games room and first floor...

"Wonderful stay for the summer with river views and amazing terrace. So many peaceful places to sit and watch the river in the grounds. The rooms were lovely - spacious, big bed and bathrooms and the extra amenities were very appreciated. Its a stunning setting for a summer break."
