"I really like this place. THe only negative was that there is no USB port in the room, or anywhere in the carpark to charge an electric vehicle. Parking is easy and plentiful. Breakfast is great. Din't actually meet a single member of staff except in the pub (where they were very pleasant) - so i cannot really comment on the staff. It would be ice to actually see someone or have the facility to ask a question etc"

The reception area was clean, spacious and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. "The room and bathroom were clean. The bathroom was poorly planned and difficult to use. There was no shower enclosure or demarkation (even a sill or ledge on the floor to keep the water somewhat contained would have been helpful). The rainhead shower and the shower wand sprayed the entire room. There are no hooks to hang up your towels. The bathroom is small and the lighting is dim. All your luggage must go on the floor as there is no luggage rack or spare chair to set anything on. Overall,...

"Great stay"

"The air con had broken in the hotel during the June 2026 heatwave. We were lied to, told we could move rooms to a working one and weren’t told it had broken everywhere until 11.30pm when returning from a concert. We asked if we could get a refund and were told we could, so at midnight we left and went to find somewhere else. 2 weeks on and I have had no apology, no refund and no acknowledgement of this being dealt with. I’m £244 out of pocket as I had to pay for another hotel. Avoid."

"Unfortunately we were put in a room that faces the road where there are ongoing roadworks. These went on all through the night, we gave up at 7 am and went for breakfast then headed straight home. The lorries were constantly back and forth with reversing alarms going. I have complained to premier inn but they accept no responsibility for placing guests in rooms while this work continues. Avoid Waterloo Street Birmingham for the time being."
