Sugar Tree Lodge - Secluded Cabin near West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock

Sugar Tree Lodge is a secluded, custom 1500 sq ft timber and glass framed lodge built on 2 1/2 private acres with 600 sq ft. of outdoor decking. The lodge is located in Warrensville, NC, a 10 minute drive to downtown West Jefferson and a 20 to 40 minute drive from Boone, Blowing Rock, Appalachian State, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, several ski slopes and many more attractions.

The lodge sleeps up to 8 guests and is a short 5 minute walk to the New River where you can enjoy fishing, tubing and kayaking. There are walking trails on the property,
Sugar Tree Lodge is the perfect place to spend honeymoons, anniversaries and celebrate birthdays. The lodge is perfect for two looking for a secluded, romantic getaway or for extended families to get together and celebrate holidays. an outdoor fire pit, built in picnic tables, porch swings and rocking chairs. Enjoy the outdoors from the inside with the huge windows and french doors or sit on the porch and take in the scenic views.

The living room has a vaulted ceiling with exposed cedar beams and features a custom stone fireplace, gas logs, ceiling fan, 55 inch TV smart TV and high speed wifi. There is one sofa, two love seats and a custom made coffee table and end table. There are french doors leading to the front porch with that has built in seating for 8.

The dining room has a custom built pine table that seats 8 guests with large picture windows looking out to the scenic mountain views.

The kitchen has all full size black stainless steel appliances, a large pantry, an over sized farmhouse sink, and open shelving. There is a custom island, bar stools, cookware, Keurig coffee maker and service for 8 guests. We have an Alexa mounted over the fridge so you can ask the weather, listen to music get directions and search for local restaurants and activities.

Both bedrooms have a queen size bed with custom made headboards, 55 inch smart TV s, dressers, ceiling fans, sconce lighting, electric fireplaces and full size closets. Both bedrooms have a doorway leading to the back deck that has two wooden hanging porch swings.

The loft has 4 custom built queen beds, a 55 inch smart TV, ceiling fan, a mounted lantern and a door leading to the upper deck. The upper deck has 4 rocking chairs for relaxing and watching the beautiful sunsets.

Both bathrooms have tile flooring, tile showers and custom built matching vanities with farmhouse sinks and rustic mirrors. The loft bathroom has a single shower and the downstairs bathroom has a soaking tub/rain shower combo.

Attractions near the lodge include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Mount Jefferson State Park and the New River State Park. For guests interested in skiing, Sugar Mountain, Appalachian Mountain, Hawksnest and Beech Mountain are all within a 40 minute drive. West Jefferson is a lively, cultural town that s very art oriented with many public murals, antique shops, festivals, gallery crawls and concerts. Downtown has a variety of restaurants, bakeries, breweries, pubs and coffee shops to enjoy as well as the Ashe County Cheese Factory and Ashe County Farmers Market. For the adventurous guests, there are an abundance of outdoor activities including hiking, jogging, kayaking, horseback riding, zip lining and biking trails.

Peaceful Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin! The cabin was clean and secluded. The location gives a private, peaceful feel, but close enough to town for groceries and activities. The cabin was as advertised and communication with the host excellent. Can’t wait to come back for another visit!

Quick weekend getaway

Property was so cute and cozy! I loved all the beds, storage space and cottage vibes. The hot tub in the early morning was so peaceful. The road is a little rough due to gravel and some up hill but manageable. Also I believe this property is tucked away enough but still in a place where there are locals down the road. It’s very quiet and serene. The Main Street of West Jefferson is about a 20 min drive. I would love to return in the future!

Cycling getaway

Stayed here with a couple of friends for 2 days to go biking in the Lansing / West Jeff area. Th weather was great. Sugar tree lodge was a perfect location and the lodge was clean, beds were comfortable and had a great secluded mountain cabin vibe. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day on the bike. Karen was a great host and very responsive.

Perfect mountain getaway

We hade a great stay at Sugar Tree Lodge, the cabin is adorable, very clean, and has everything you would need. Amazing value if you plan on staying with multiple couples and kids, as the cabin very comfortable sleeps 8 and has 2 full baths. The lot is nice and secluded, plenty of privacy when using the hot tub. Strongly recommend taking a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Not for children

When I made the reservation, the ages of my children were stated. This was not a place to take young children by no means! Had it been adults, would have been fantabulous! Definitely would have been wiser to invest funds elsewhere for a family vacation Gorgeous property yes! The split AC unit was not up to par for this size of a lodge. Turned it down to 60 and never cooled down, ended up sleeping with a fan on the bed.

Annual Sisters and kids family Trip

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for in our week get away from the city. The cabin was well stocked with what we needed and there were 3 different groceries within 20 minutes of us. There are also several hiking opportunities within a short drive with beautiful sights. We enjoyed our trip.

Perfect Place for a Mountain Getaway

We loved staying at Sugar Tree Lodge. The setting and cabin were beautiful! It was such a relaxing stay! Our family enjoyed soaking in the hot tub, making s'mores by the fire pit, and sitting on the porch swings in the cool mountain air! We had plenty of space with room for everyone to spread out if needing some quiet time as well as lots of seating for everyone if we wanted to play games or watch a show together as a family. The lodge was stocked with everything you would need. Karen was very proactive in checking-in to see if we needed anything and was very responsive if we had questions, even before our trip started. I would highly recommend staying at the Sugar Tree Lodge if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the NC mountains!

Great Getaway

The Sugar Tree Lodge was great for our family of four! We decided to all sleep in the upstairs loft because it had a "treehouse" feel, and it was great to watch movies on the big television. Members from our local running club traveled to the area to run at Grayson Highlands. We loved the property and even said we’d like to visit again. It was clean and had great amenities. A great little getaway in the woods!

Best cabin, ever!

The best VRBO cabin, ever. It was very clean, the kitchen was very well equipped and organized, the upstairs was perfect for the teens, and the hot tub was great. On top of all these, the host was amazing! I will never look for another cabin for our future trips. Thank you!

Amazing Property!

We enjoyed a week at this beautiful cabin with friends and family. It was hands down one of the most memorable trips we’ve had. We got lucky and enjoy a beautiful snowfall and the property was magical covered in snow. As for the cabin, we couldn’t have been happier. It slept my family of 6 along with 2 friends with bed space to spare. The kitchen was stocked better than anywhere we have stayed. Everything was clean and the towels were abundant. Karen was so fast to respond with any questions and gave great info to help with our stay. All in all, there’s nothing I could begin to complain about.

‘23 Winter Sojourn

Lovely house in relaxing, secluded, and peaceful setting. Spacious rooms, but would suggest more reading lights in main den, and in bedrooms. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc. Hot tub was clean and well maintained and only a few steps away from the building. We would absolutely recommend this house to others wanting to get away from it all!!

Do not wait… book it!

This cabin was the cutest VRBO property I’ve rented. Everything was so clean and it was very well furnished. I am one who likes to unpack, and the amazing amount of storage and baskets was great!! It’s tricky to find in the dark, which is what we had to do, but worth the hunt! Definitely highly recommend this property!

We enjoyed our visit at your wonderful cabin! It was truly everything that was promised. We have rented many a cabin and house over the years, and we were impressed with how clean yours was and the beautiful furnishings and house features! West Jefferson was a delightful town and we enjoyed eating at Boon Docks and we certainly got in our shopping!

Perfect!

The property is even more lovely in person. We had a wonderful weekend in West Jefferson. Karen was quick to communicate our welcome, and let us know that a brand new stove had been put in. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The house was easy to get to and easy access to Main Street. Excellent stay! We look forward to coming back.
