"The room and hotel are very nicely kept and the staff were very helpful. However, if you are looking to stay somewhere you can comfortably walk outside with your family I would choose differently. The neighborhood is loud and does not feel comfortable to walk to local food and shopping. We ended up taking a Lyft to Moda for a concert because the walk to and from public transit is not the safest."

"Wonderful experience! The hotel is in the best part of town, walkable to everything! We are first timers to Portland and fell in love with the city because of this place, the location, the walkability to the best breweries, wine bars, restaurants, etc. We hopped onto the tram and did the A-Loop to get a feel of the city. They also require you to submit your request no later than 2:00 pm the day before which means on the day you check in (which at the earliest is 3:00) you missed the deadline. "The hotel is in the worst part of Portland. They have no parking unless you pay an $80 valet fee. This you have to pay since there is no parking in the streets unless you want to risk parking in an area full of junkies and thieves. The Hoxton knows this, hence the ridiculous “valet fee” plus tip! I was able to park my car in a parking garage after a half hour of stress and exhaustion from my trip. Turns out that’s EXACTLY the place they park the valeted cars you pay $80 for!! RIPOFF JOINT"

"The staff checking you in were nice and welcoming. However, the bartender guy with the mullet was rude and rushed us when trying to decide what we wanted. We ended up getting rid of our drinks because they were terrible. Following day when we saw he was working again, we went across the street and bought a drink there instead. Room was nice and clean.
