"The staff on checking in weren’t too friendly and rushed through all details - we had to ask to repeat some details. He didn’t know we had pre-paid for buffet breakfast so had to find details of booking to show him. The staff on in the morning were totally different; very friendly and helpful. Room fairly clean overall. "

"The hotel is old (but interesting) and needs a lick of paint here and there but the room was very clean. Bathroom with shower very good. Very nice double bed too. Breakfast was buffet style, was good though no fruit. No problem with Wi-Fi. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Excellent location for eateries and seeing old Southampton. Good value and would stay there again. "
