Lorna’s Ghost Town Cabin in the Terlingua Ghost Town is the perfect home base for your adventures in the Big Bend. This newly built cabin is in the heart of the famous Terlingua Ghost Town. You will be just a short walk away from all the history, art, dining, drinking, and entertainment the Ghost Town has to offer. From the Ghost Town, you are just minutes away from Big Bend National Park, the Rio Grande, Lajitas, and Big Bend Ranch State Park.

Built in 2014 as the personal vacation home of the owners, Lorna’s Ghost Town Cabin is well designed, comfortable, attractive, and convenient. It sleeps two people downstairs and can sleep another two up in the sleeping loft. It is ideal for a couple or a couple with children.

The kitchen is small but fully equipped and stocked for meal preparation. The living room is comfortably sized and cozy with a leather sofa and chair and views of the Chisos Mountains. The bedroom has a new queen-sized bed and quality linens. The sleeping loft is not recommended for adults or anyone with limited mobility due to the low ceiling and the pull-down ladder. It has two new twin-sized beds and overlooks the living room.

Outside the cabin are two covered porches with mountain views, a fire ring for campfires, and a small charcoal grill.

Located on a paved road in the Terlingua Ghost Town, Lorna’s Place provides easy access to all the Big Bend has to offer. Spend your days and nights doing as much or as little as you like. Once you stay here once, you’ll want to return again and again. We’ll be glad to have you.

Interaction with Guests:
We manage several properties and live two miles away. We are available by phone, text, email, or messages through Airbnb. We are typically only on site for cleaning or maintenance issues.

  • The Rio Grande River winds 12 miles down Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park, Texas. When the water is high you can come down the 1,500 foot walled canyon. With less water flowing, guides take you 3 to 4 miles up the canyon with some spots having to portage. But take it all in stride because the views are breathtaking. I recommend Big Bend River Tours. You might get lucky and have the guides that take you a half mile up a side canyon. An excellent day excursion in the out of the way national park.

  • The Closed Canyon hike in Big Bend Ranch State Park was completely deserted when we went on a Tuesday in April. We hiked further than the 0.7 mile indicated on the signage, and ended up scooting and scrambling up the most interesting narrow and smooth chutes. We heard the song of the elusive canyon wren, too. This tiny house was so cute and perfect for us. There were 2 of us and we were in town for an epic wedding. We were so conveniently located in Ghost Town to all the events we went to as well as for having breakfast out. The amenities were amazing - we wanted for nothing and the big porch allowed us to sit and admire the starry night sky.

The cabin was a lot better than I expected. Kitchen and bathroom were well stocked and the whole place was very clean. If you're going to the Big Bend National and State parks I highly recommend staying here.

Well located and very clean

The property was great for our mother son trip. Super clean. Good water pressure and a shower head tall enough for my 6’3” son. Bonus! Beds were comfortable though a little on the short side. I know he is tall but I am 5’10” and my feet were hanging off the edge of the bed. LOL. We didn’t realize from the pictures that the loft required crawling around. No way to even sit up for my son. But he is used to crawling into tents so not that big of a deal. We spent most of our time in the park and just needed a place for sleeping and a hot shower. Walking distance to great local restaurants. The best part was the porch. We spent our evenings outside enjoying the stars and well deserved beers following our hikes. I’d recommend adding cabinet fronts to keep the dust out of the glasses and maybe replacing the sofa. Other than that we would recommend this place for any Big Bend adventure

Beautiful cabin

We stayed at Lorna’s cabin from March 28th til April 1. Very easy to find. A walk away from the famous cemetery and about 15 mins away from BBNP. The place is clean, necessities are there. Plates utensils bbq grill firepit. The patio is a great place to hang out at night. Would definitely want to go back and stay there again. Owners had everything we needed and answers our questions quickly.

Nice Location and Facilities

Great getaway location! Park your car and walk anywhere in the town. I have VRBO properties that I rent out so I'm very picky when I stay at other VRBOs. This property met all of my expectations.

Great location!

I traveled with my husband and 18 year old daughter and there was ample space for all three of us. We absolutely loved being right in the middle of Ghost Town and being able to walk to the nearby restaurants. The cabin was clean with all the needed amenities. It’s also a quick and easy drive to the entrance of Big Bend which was wonderful for super early morning hiking!! I would definitely stay here again.

Great Small House

Lorna’s cabin was perfect for a couple or a couple with one or two children. The property was clean with everything one could need. Great location for access to Big Bend and local restaurants and stores. Would stay again without hesitation.

Comfy cabin in the heart of the Terlingua Ghost Town. Close to restaurants and other amenities. We’ve been to the Big Bend area several times and this was the best accommodation by far.

Nice place to stay as a home base for our trip to Big Bend. About 45 minutes to most hikes, but seems like if not in the park, that will be the case. Great hosts, very quick communication. Cute town with a few good restaurants to eat at.

Perfect for our trip

Lorna's cabin was perfect for our first sibling trip! Two female and one male, we had no issues with the loft or getting up and down. It was amazing to literally be a stones throw away from all the popular spots in the Ghost Town and any meal! We were surprised there was no TV, but it wasn't an issue. Would definitely recommend this stay!
