When we first arrived, we were given an upgrade to an Executive Suite over the Courtyard Club room we ordered. After arriving at our suite, and noting how nice the floor and room smelt, we decided it wasn't right for us, and the originally booked Courtyard Club room was more appropriate to our liking, so we asked to swap back to our booked room.
Upon arriving on floor 5 for our courtyard room, we noticed a heavy musty stench, possibly even moldy throughout the entire floor. The room itself was not much better in regards to smell.
Partway through our stay, maintenance attempted to gain access to our room. This was worrisome, as I did not hear them knock at all, and with the lack flicked, you can still see directly into the shower, which was in use at the time, which you can clearly hear from outside the room. I presumed this was because they thought the room was unoccupied at the time, due to the room switch from earlier.
We attempted to use the pool facilities, which is when we realized there was no way to use the direct pool access feature of our room without leaving our room entirely unlocked. The pool itself was quite filthy, with what appeared to be mold floating around.
The staff were amazing. The club benefits of refreshments and nibbles were very nice. The included breakfast was good, but nothing special.
The pool needs a good, regular clean.
Floor 5 needs to be inspected for mold, and heavily sanitized.
The Direct Poolside Access Rooms need a carded security lock.
