The Perfect Adventure Nest!

  • Your map app will direct you to the Melstrand Union General Store, when you arrive at the store there is a wooden fence on the east side of the building. At the end of the fence there is a driveway leading back towards the woods, just before the dumpster at the end you will see a brown cabin to your left. There is a single door on the north side of the building, that is the entrance. Please reach out to Ariana if you are having difficulty locating the cabin.

    This cabin is brand new with everything you'll need after a long day of hiking, fishing, riding the trails, or exploring the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. It is walking distance from the Melstrand Union General Store where you can not only find gas but also snacks, hand scooped ice cream, baked goods (made fresh daily), sandwiches, and so much more!

We liked the location, as it was close to the park. It was very spacious. We enjoyed the table and chairs, the coffee pot, the fridge and the kitchen sink.

Our host was very friendly. The cabin is nice qnd clean and makes for a perfect stay in the beautiful upper peninsula.

A lovely little cabin in close to Pictured Rocks

We stayed over the 4th of July. The cabin was confortable and our stay was very quiet and nice! We would stay again!

Heavy mosquito problem especially at night. Also they have an ant problem in the bathroom. Can only access regular tv & no other apps. Store next to it is way over priced. Other than that it’s ok.

Property is a cabin in the woods which means spiders and ants that are common but not appreciated. At the current time the refrigerator/ freezer was defrosting and leaking water. Water is a slow drain in shower and water not constant warm. Made owner aware and where going to fix. Location is great. Very quiet. Has resident geese and chickens - so cute. Beds comfy and room large. Grocery right on property with very yummy homemade cinnamon rolls! Has a little of anything you could need

Clean, simple space to escape the mosquitoes!

Nice little place. The mosquitoes were thick at the time of year we went and this was a good, affordable substitute to camping.

Just what we needed

Close to Chapel trail. Clean and quiet place to stay and the food truck at the turn in had excellent food.

Great spot in the UP to stay

This is a simple little cabin in the UP with a good location to Pictured Rocks area. We found it basic and reasonably priced for a couple of nights for us to enjoy the area. We appreciated the short stay opportunity and great communication with the owner/renter.

Cozy place very nice only thing that I didn’t like was the shower took forever to get hot after in the shower it would get cold and only 1 person could shower had to wait for more hot water

Warm and cozy!

Perfect location on the snowmobile trail! Clean and nicely apportioned, good parking for truck, trailer and 2 sleds.

The location to nearby attractions was ideal; however, the shower temperature would fluctuate considerably and the heater did not work. We did appreciate the coziness and simplicity of the cabin.

Pictured Rocks visit

The place was just what we wanted. Location is fantastic about halfway between Munising and Grand Marais. It was only about a mile from the Mosquito Falls/Chappel Rock loop we most wanted to hike.

Great Get-Away

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights on our honeymoon. We wanted a place near Pictured Rocks as we planned to go kayaking. The cabin was in between the two ends of the park and gave convenient access to everything in between.

Awesome price

We checked prices on many locations and this one was larger than a hotel room, big shower and bathroom, nice kitchen area for like half the price of places just 15 min away in Munising. Highly recommend.

The property was easy to find. There were no food trucks but the driveway was visible. The cabin was neat and clean, just a few cobwebs and insects, but that's to be expected in the woods. We appreciated the wi-fi, TV & streaming to relax at night after a busy day. I was disappointed that there was no picnic table or other chairs outside. We wanted to make a fire at night but there was nowhere to sit. The water temp & pressure were unstable and made showering unpleasant. Overall it was a comfortable place to sleep while visiting the UP, just a few minutes drive from Munising and Pictured Rocks.
