Custom built by and for the owners. This 1500 square foot, two bedroom, 1 bath house has much to offer the active beach lover in addition to the sun worshipping lounger.
Ideally located one block up from 26th Ave beach and conveniently centered in Santa Cruz from Capitola to downtown Santa Cruz and the World famous Beach Boardwalk. This sweet beach home beckons visitors to relax in a peaceful atmosphere. Fall asleep to the sounds of crashing waves and wake up to the scent of the ocean. Guests can walk or bike to many desired places around town and avoid the hassles of driving and parking. Guests love staying in our friendly neighborhood, walking, playing at the beach, watching surfers and abundant wildlife just off our shoreline.
This house is a breath of fresh air with an open floor plan, hardwood floors, fireplace centerpiece, vaulted ceilings, skylights, spacious kitchen and living area.
The gourmet kitchen is a food lovers delight, focused around a granite slab island for easy gathering and food prep. There is a double electric oven, 5 burner gas stove top, warming drawer, microwave oven, TVs throughout the house.
The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking essentials. There are fresh flowers and living plants throughout the house.
*Provision services or catering can be provided by request. For example, local farmers market produce and fresh local fish.
In addition to the comforts of this home, guests can enjoy the fireplace on cool Central Coast evenings as well as the deluxe Dimension One therapy hot tub and convenient outdoor shower after a surf session or beach run. The outdoor yards are wonderfully manicured and fully fenced. There is a Weber gas BBQ, patio furniture, umbrella, fire pit and hammock in the back yard. Washing machine and dryer in garage. Off street parking for several cars.
For the working vacation, wireless high speed internet is available throughout the house.
Active families will appreciate this house has available wetsuits, boogie boards, beach chairs, wagon, beach toys, Pack and Play, high chair lots of children's books and toys in garage as well as movies. The Live Oak library is a short walk away and is surrounded by Corcoran Lagoon which is home to Great White Herons and many other types of animals and birds.There is wood for beach bonfires and a small portable BB-Q.
There are so many great things to do in our neighborhood that it is possible to spend a week or longer and never have to drive anywhere.
During the Summer months and holiday breaks there is a five day minimum stay, unless there are small gaps between to be filled in for shorter visits.

My family and I had a great experience staying in Cathy and Andre's home. The home was clean and quiet, with an impressive display of indoor/outdoor plants, and an assortment of local bird species that seemed to be enjoying the outdoor feeder and yard. We'd definitely book again during a future trip to Santa Cruz!

My wife and I loved the house. Block and a half from the beach. Sunset every night and lower tide walks on the beach. The house had everything we needed. Every little touch is thought out by the owner. The hot tub was great to use a few times a day/night. Lovely quiet neighborhood with peaceful bird sounds most of the day. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Very comfy living room and bed too. We will rent this house again if it’s available for another stay when we get down that way. It’s a great house for a family with a kid or two or just a couple on a getaway vacation. Very safe and quiet neighborhood walks too in either direction.

This was a beautifully decorated home. It was incredibly well appointed and space to hang towels, just do well thought out to be easy and pleasing for any guest. There were so many wetsuits of all sizes and games and books. Very comfortable sleeping. Probably one of the best I’ve ever stayed at. So close to the beach and lovely walking. I would come back!

Cathy's beach cottage is a perfect place to stay in Santa Cruz. Easy walk or bike to the local beaches. She provides a few bikes/beach chairs/boogey boards which is so nice. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay. Cathy had great recommendations for things to do and was easy to get in touch with. The property is really beautiful. We didn't want to leave!!!!!

Super easy and great location

Without even asking the host reached out to let us know the property would be available early to us. We didn’t end up coming in early but it was a nice surprise that we could have since we were traveling with 3 young kids. Check in/out are super simple, basically just walk in and out. Very quiet neighborhood with lots of people walking their dogs etc and close to the beach.

Cathy’s home is the best rental we have stayed at, and she is very thoughtful to have things available for children and families to use. She was very communicative and willing to assist, and the home exceeded what the listing described it as! I hope to be able to return in the future.

Perfect Garden Cottage stay

Very nicely decorated and so many beautiful flowers surround the property. Communication with Cathy was very easy and she responded right away. We had everything we could possibly need for our stay. Nice quiet neighborhood and close to the beach and other things you may want to do in the area! Would highly recommend this property to anyone coming to Santa Cruz!!

I am actually a longtime resident of the area and wanted to treat myself to a staycation for my birthday, so I knew that the house was in a great area near my fav beach. (Walking distance!) The house was perfect, so comfortable with a great, well-stocked kitchen and cool extras like bicycles, movies and games, boogie boards and wetsuits and more. The hosts were so nice and easy to communicate with and ready to help in any way!Now I know where my visiting family can sta!
