"We enjoyed staying at Hotel Island - the concierges were great! Security was good - pass keys for the elevator, and a safe in the room. Brunch was available and the service and food at restaurant was very good, but wasn’t always open according to their posted hours. The housekeeping was adequate. "very nice and quiet just outside the downtown. bit of a walk to the busy downtown area of Reykjavik, but if you don't mind that then its worth saving for a less crowded and easy going area. Plus side it was closer to larger stores you may want supplies from (big grocery/costco/etc) and it was easier to hit the road to drive out to tour different sites. Parking was free if you can find it, but there was a fair bit of street parking so we didn't have issues. Kids loved it, would definitely go...

"Check-in was a bit confuse due to the address of the property, Cleaniess: The 2 bathroom sinks in both bathroon has a funky smell. Other than that the bathrooms are cleaned. The wood floor is dirty and a bit old that need to be updated. Host: Very nice, very responsive and accommodation for us to check in a bit early on arrive date and check out a bit late on depart date. Location: very convinience close to shopping groceries, restaurant and bus stop."

"The room and the hotel are lovely. There were a few issues that we wish had been better. The TV kept blanking out, was hard to navigate channels and was way too low to bee seen from bed while watching the news! Minor, but worth mentioning. The LARGE picture windows had drapes that would not block the light from the corners requiring us to wear sleep masks every night. "We had a wonderful night at the Sand and an even better morning because their breakfast was amazing! A little hard to find the entrance because it’s tucked away off the street but other than that we had a wonderful stay! Staff was so helpful and kind. "

"Just had a 3-night stay at ION City. Staffs were all friendly and amazing. Location is in the core downtown tourism area of reykjavic so that could be pro or cons depending on what you like. It's a little bit loud outside especially if the room is towards the street, but window is reasonably sound-proof. One issue was that when I first arrived there were a few blood drops in the bath towels, but after I raised that issue the room service was all good for the rest of the stay. Overall 4/5. "

"What a fabulous place to stay. We really enjoyed our time there and found it a convenient location to walk to downtown Reykjavík while also being close enough to free street parking. The only “issues” we had were with the trash/recycling, as we couldn’t find the key card that was supposed to be in the apartment, and we were unclear on whether or not the there was a cleaning service. We were there for over two weeks and didn’t notice any cleaning or changing of towels. These were really minor...

"Great location in heart of city and tour buses stop right outside. Rooms are modern and very clean. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Walk down the lighted inside stairs to enjoy many Icelandic phrases…what a hoot. Property has great bar that opens at 6 pm with window on Main Street for people watching after a long day. You can also order full dinner from restaurant that is served in bar area. Food was delicious. Only complaint is that balcony rooms share balcony with every guest...

"Excellent property in a prime area. Check in was smooth and communication with owners was easy. Only thing to be aware of is it is slightly tricky stairs to access, so have to be comfortable with stairs and carrying your luggage up them. Overall will stay again. "
