"A relaxing feel runs through the hotel and out into the gardens. The view from the restaurant is beautiful. Herons love it too! The staff were smiley and attentive, Our room was clean and the towels soft and fluffy. We made use of the spa facilities every day. The pool temperature was great for us."

"This is very run down, brilliant location but a tired hotel. I had no kettle in my room despite having tea coffee and mugs, this was rectified once I brought it up. The staff are fantastic, the hotel itself is just very tired."

"I liked the outside of the building. The inside was awful. Water stained ceilings. Old smelly furniture stacked up in the corridor. The Window was kept open with a piece of wood, I didn't know until I closed the window. I had to lift the window to close it, only for said piece of wood to fall out and nearly hit someone. Shocking. Tha fan in the room did not have front guard on, I was unable to use it. Bathroom had paint peeling from the skirting around the shower. Mould on the sealant. ...

"It was great value for our one night stay. If you’re looking for a location near the beach, train station and the bus stop to Ryde or Ventnor then it’s great. The rooms were small but the bed was comfy and we had tea and coffee provided in the room as well. Check-in and check out were really straightforward and everyone very friendly. Many thanks."

"The property is situated in a great part of Southsea, you can get to the beach relatively quickly and there are plenty of attractions around. The property itself is in need of a spruce up and a thorough deep clean, it feels a bit tired throughout. Our children were wearing light coloured socks and due to the hard floors not being cleaned properly, they were all filthy when we left. For a property that sleeps 10, there is only 1 bathroom which was surprising, especially if everyone is trying...

"This was in a great location but unfortunately the lift had broken a month before we arrived and no one informed us. We found walking up 5 flights of stairs not the easiest and wish we had been informed. The air conditioning didn’t work either though we did have a fan. The heat in the room was overbearing."

There was urine left in the upstairs toilet, the downstairs bathroom was dusty with hair around the toilet, and the bath mat had been folded up while still wet. "Kind of okay, but some of the staff were really bothered if you need anything or ask them a question. At the pub the staff were a bit weird and made us feel not welcomed. Most of them looked very tense and wanted you to get out of their faces quickly. Some of them were good. They should leave more milk bags in the rooms."

"Room was much bigger than expected (possibly an upgrade) and seemed to have been recently renovated. Spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was included although my invoice stated room only. Apparently all rooms here include breakfast which was very good. Highlight really was the friendliness of staff which is probably because it’s an independent property and they genuinely want to make guests feel welcome. "

"No ventilation, the apartment has no WINDOWS, accept for 2 roof lights which were too high to reach. The property was booked for 3 people, I rang and confirmed but regardless there was no linen or pillows for the 3rd person."
