"We loved our stay at The Scholar. Beautiful, modern, large, parking for our rental vehicle. The only thing we didn't know when we booked is that this hotel is nestled into the University of Edinburgh campus (hence the name)! Did that make me feel old as dirt? Yes. Did I love staying there? Also yes. "

"Great breakfast, very friendly staff, very clean room. The only 2 things I would say that could improve: there was no flat sheet, and being summer time, the room was warm and too hot to sleep with the duvet, so a flat sheet was needed. The room could use some updating, toilet flush only worked after pressing several times. The window was really old and hard to open and close. Good pillows, good towels. And again, the best staff. Slightly pricey for the room you get. "

"Really super hotel, will stay again. However, some staff at breakfast were not well trained. Rather brusque, no idea how to serve at the table. Banging plates down on the table, collecting plate from the table by leaning over from one corner to another. Also housekeeping excellent on 3 days, poor one one. Will definitely stay again but only had breakfast there on one day due to the poor service"

"It is a very comfortable hotel, easy to use everything. I am 84 yrs old and slightly infirm. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to shower while in a hotel. But the shower was spacious and the faucet very easy to manipulate. The floors are no skid type tiles. I felt very safe."

Only thing to be weary of is if you're short in heighth, be cautious with the showers. "What a peaceful stay! Princes street suites was a relaxing place to go, even in the busy atmosphere! Adjacent to literally everything. 5 minute walk from new town, 5 minutes to old town and the royal mile, 15 minute walk to the Holyrood Palace and Arthur’s seat, adjacent to parks, restaurants, and 3 minutes away walking from an incredible monument on a hill. A bus stop is right outside the door too! "

"We had a one night stay here. The location was easy to get to, just off the A1, and there was plenty of parking. To check in you have to go into the Marstons pub where there is a small reception desk. We checked in and then you go to the seperate accommodation block. There is a large Asda and a very nice garden centre just across from the site. We ate in the pub restaurant which was nice food at a reasonable price. The room was big enough for us and was comfortable. We slept well. Breakfast...

We had a lovely meal in The White Cockade Bistro and Jamie Lee and Valentina were both excellent in serving us. I enjoyed my early morning swim before we set off for a walk around Elie."
