"Unfortunately the hotel had some problems in the kitchen which impacted very badly on the menu for dinner, the breakfast, service (so slow) and noise. It would have been better to fix the problems before reopening or to have had the courtesy to let us know in advance what the situation was. I would have stayed somewhere else. Extremely disappointing as I’ve had lovely stays here in the past. "

"The Moorland Hotel is fabulous. We would definitely recommend it and when we visit the area again we will stay here without hesitation. The food was excellent and the staff were welcoming. Although we didn't take a dog we saw some in the hotel and they were well catered for with a wash station outside (for after a long walk), plenty of water bowls, treats, spare leads, harness and blankets etc. All in all, at the end of our stay we felt rested and relaxed. You can't ask for much more than that."

"Worst stay I have ever had. The first morning at breakfast the plates were so dirty it put us off eating. We literally went through the whole pile and could not find any clean ones. Didn't bother going to breakfast the 2nd morning. There was an odd smell on the first day when we walked into room but it was stifling hot so put the air conditioning on and left it at that. However the next evening when we returned to the room we walked in and there was a clear smell of drugs in the room which...

"Stayed one night for music event nearby. Location perfect for walking into city centre & train station. Very clean, food good, beds super comfy. Kettle, tea, coffee & towels all available to use in our room. Staff very friendly & attentive. Parking at rear was FOC - nice perk! Very quiet at night - our room was at rear. After returning from our gig on a cold wet April night, it was so so nice to open the front door and the central heating had been put on. 😊"

"Only two staff trying to run hotel. Had to wait for a table then service, even though the restaurant only had a couple of people in it. As the girl couldn’t run everything, not her fault. Food was terrible and dry with brown coleslaw. The hotel didn’t seem that busy considering it was Easter weekend. Had the same problem I at the other Premiere Inn hotel in Exeter last year."

"We stayed two weekends, 23rd and 30th The staff were very good at their job. When we were staying above incredibly volatile and inebriated guests on the first weekend, it was dealt with quickly. Unfortunately the next night another guest set off the fire alarm at 1am. "Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x"
