"As a family hotel, I enjoyed my stay at Melia Chiang Mai as a couple. We upgraded to a Level suit and found the amenities worth it. The best part was the daily happy hour but you can also have breakfast with much better quality of food than found in the buffet. The location is quite walkable and near the night market and the old city but also a lot of great local restaurants and cafes. "This was the second time I stayed at this location. This time I was in a standalone room on the property instead of in one of the rooms on the second floor. The hotel location is fairly simple to get to, located within a gated community where there are at least two guards on duty at all times that check all vehicles going in and out.
