"Well, we were told the room we booked was out of order when we arrived. The hotel staff sent us to a carppy motel, literally the windows are rotten, 15 minutes away. It is unbearable so we cancelled the booking and requested refund."

"The property is clean, you can see the gardeners cleaning outside. The front desk was nice, we were given a paper with all the information of the hotel. The continental breakfast was nice, very simple, but with great flavor. They boil eggs, so if you have kids, be careful. Waffle maker made thick fluffy 1 or 4 piece waffles. Then there's a toast area with bagels and bread. Another table has yogurt and oatmeal options. Bananas and apples were an option. The best machine was their coffee...

"Beautiful building. Good location, lots of nice amenities. Good breakfast, surprisingly quiet on the main floor. Easy booking and check in. Staff member on duty when we were there could use a little reminder that friendliness goes a long way. Lovely property but could use a little attention to detail- blinds are worn, lots of dings and marks on the walls, generally looks overly lived in. No need for a big remodel or redecoration, just attention to the small things that detract from the overall...

"We have stayed here before and enjoyed the facilities. It is a short walk to the beach through the conference center. the rooms are comfortable with a small kitchen counter for coffee, a small refrigerator, and plates, etc. We found that on this trip there are updates needed in our room. Wallpaper was peeling, the rug had black duct tape securing it and the TV needed office staff to help us get it to work. I hope that if we stay there again, we will have a room that is in good repair."

"We stayed at the Portola Hotel for two nights during the week as a mini-vacation to visit the aquarium and spend some time by the Ocean. I had stayed at the hotel years ago and had fond memories of my experience, so I didn’t mind paying almost $300/night, I was expecting a nice hotel. "Our room was nice and the space was clean. While it felt a bit dated, it was still a great place to stay. Parking was easy at the hotel and the continental breakfast was typical.
