"This was a lovely stay in a beautiful location with access to boat rides and steam train. From here we visited Keswick, Ambleside and other towns in the Lake District including a must visit to Beatrix Potter’s house Hilltop. The hotel itself does feel a bit dated. The hotel room lacks the usual facilities of a four star hotel like no air con, no fridge and limited plug sockets. "We had a great 6 day stay at the Damson Dene. All the staff are super friendly. Had a couple of SPA treatments with Sharon, they were amazing and so reasonable priced. The food in the hotel was superb. The breakfast was plentiful and the evening meals were delicious. The only issue we had was with housekeeping.
