"The lodge was nice, check in was easy and the lounge had cold drinks and bar service available. The room was comfortable but smelled a bit. Complimentary in room coffee, biscuits and a bit of sherry was a nice touch. Bus stop right out front. "

"The room (sleeping 3) was clean and spacious. It faces the back, so it was quiet despite major road and traffic going by the front of the building. Convenient location: Shopping center with Aldi is in 10-minute walking distance, and bus stop with connection to the city center right in front of the hotel. (You don't need a car in the city of Edinburgh). Staff wasn't overly friendly. The gentleman working at the reception disappeared when he saw my heavy suitcase...So did housekeeping upon...

"Good: handy location, spacious room and spotlessly clean. Staff member I saw was very friendly and helpful Bad: slightly shabby decor in places. Also expensive but that seems to be the norm for Edinburgh - definitely pricier than previous visits to the city."

"Wonderful owners were amazing and everything so clean and beautiful. They were so helpful and have added so much to our trip with suggestions and little things that really matter. Breakfast was amazing! We felt like very special quests! We will return here again. Highly recommend."

"Loved staying at this great guest house. Very convenient for Edinburgh city centre as bus stop for the city centre is right outside the door. Craig is a great host with lots of helpful information. Would definitely stay here again. "

"Just an incredible time at the Norton House! Just an incredible comfortable bed with six pillows. Great breakfast, lunch dinner gourmet dinner available there on site and then to be able to walk the grounds and view the sheep go up by the woods and look down at the hotel. It was very nice. The spa facilities were top-notch. The receptionist were always available and friendly. I can’t say enough about the Norton."

"It’s a perfect location for travel to Edinburgh. The train station is less than a 5 minute walk, and you’re also in the middle of the city where restaurants, museums, shops and cafes are all within walkable distance. The hotel room was small, but more than adequate for a good night’s rest."
