Reunion with an old Navy buddy

Cottage was very nice with plenty of room to house our families. Easy for my mother in law to take elevator to and from floors. We appreciated that it had a well stocked kitchen and we could cook while we were there. Would definitely stay again in the future.

This was our first ever beach stay and it was better than we ever expected. Waking up to the sunrise, the sound of waves crashing on shore and the wildlife we encounter was truly amazing. We treated ourselves to the comforts, lots of beach time, sunrises, training runs and bike rides, Jockey's Ridge, kayaking in the ocean, visit to Wright Memorial and Snow Bird ice cream. I was a week full of some awesome memories!!!

A few downsides, you can hear a lot of traffic noise, it needs to be updated, although it was clean & well equipped kitchen. There are few en-suites, creating multi people using one bathroom, especially on the main floor.

Late summer break

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are a family of 4 and stayed at the Fly Boys for a last summer vaca before school starts. The house was fantastic, perfect location. Kids were able to go to the beach anytime they wanted. We had some very minor issues but the service team was super prompt and friendly. Unfortunately we had a tropical storm come in for a couple of days but we were able to keep ourselves entertained and cooked a lot of great food. Overall perfect for a week long break.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great however the furniture needs to be updated and the house needs to be cleaned better. The hot tub needs to go outside so that the sunroom can be used. It smells like a hotel pool and the odor is too strong to stay in the room. All the furniture is outdated and in somewhat poor condition but the location is great. You need to add a hose downstairs for cleaning off chairs and feet. There needs to be a better way to clean your feet off when coming off the beach.

The home is in a good location but not a reat experience at all. The home smelled bad when we entered it. Living room rug and furniture needed to be replaced as they were old and dirty. We went out and bought a couple cans of Febreeze which helped. You can see from the photos that the gounds were dirty. Although we were on the beach, the beach was not accessible too us as there was a large mount of sane between the hourse and the beach. When I contacted Beach Realty about the issues there reply was "What would you like us to do." I decided I needed to let it go n oder to enjoy my vacation. There are a ton o properties to rent in the Outer Banks. Do not rent this one and bot from Beach Realty.

As for the house, our hot tub was unusable for a few days as it was dirty and we called to have it cleaned. When there to clean it it was determined that it needed a new part. He did come back and fix it but again it was mid week before we could get in it. The carpets had multiple stains. The top floor has no closet??? And they toilet up there doesn’t flush very well. And the house it’s self definitely needs some updates!

Slightly Disappointing Experience

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were disappointed with the interior of the house. Although the furnishings were nice and some quite new, there were obviously known maintenance issues with the property (one master bedroom had no electricity and another had tape over several outlets indicating a known problem; one toilet seat was disintegrating; to name a few things ) and it needed to be cleaned more thoroughly (there were dust blobs hanging from the ceiling in one bedroom, coffee stains in the kitchen, the coffee maker was really dirty, etc.) The rental company responded to our third call about the electrical issues and sent someone out, but the problem returned.The deck area was very nice and the beach access is fantastic. The location of the property is great and the house could be very nice with some TLC.

Perfect for a large group

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first time in the Outerbanks. My parents are both dying and have mobility issues. We booked this house for our last family vacation because of the elevator. It is small, but it did the job. We weren't able to get them to the beach via the deck/stairs. We had to go to the public beach access, but that's fine because it's only a few houses down. The house was huge! The views were great and centrally located to everything you may want do in the Outerbanks. The only issue was when we asked for an extended check out time, the door code reset and we had to climb through one of the windows to get inside to collect our belongings. I wish we could have stayed was nice to pretend like things were normal for a while.

July Beach Week at Fly Boys

Early spring in the OBX

Seven of us shared 6 days on the Outer Banks at Fly Boys, a large beachfront home which could easily accommodate a larger group. The house was clean, neat and supplied for almost all needs. Arriving a hour before earliest normal check in, we called the manager and, after a quick check to assure all was ready, we were given access to the home. LOTS of deck space on different levels as well as outdoor spaces, all nicely appointed. Very comfortable home with just enough diversionary items (games. books, television, Bluetooth sound system, etc., to occupy all of us (21-75) on cooler or rainy days. Would recommend this home and the managers to anyone.
