"Breakfast restaurant on second floor was very easy to get to and had fresh made hot breakfast each morning. Staff was very nice and helped a lot with how to ride and pay for the trolly. "

"Overall good hotel and location. Small complaint their tubs have a weird or old style Flip It Stopper which is a toggle style bathtub drain plug that opens and closes with a simple nudge of a toe or finger. The problem is literally the pressure of the water would turn the stopper closed so the tub constantly fills up with water as you shower."

"Hotel was in a perfect location for all the pier and excursion pick up activities that we plan (Napa Valley tour and Alcatraz). The room was clean and comfortable. The other areas of the hotel could be a bit more updated and refreshed -- carpets, furniture, elevators. One elevator was not working and there are only two which caused a bit of a wait when going to and from our room. Front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating :-). "I have stayed at this hotel a half dozen times now, and it is my go to in San Francisco. The location is perfectly central, right next to the Chinatown gate and just between Union Square and the financial district. The immediate neighborhood has walkable conveniences ranging from neighborhood markets to coffee shops and lovely small restaurants - particularly several French cafes and bistros. All is always spotlessly clean, safe, and quiet, and prices are a good value for SF. I recommend...

"The room was very clean and had everything needed. The bed was a little soft for my taste. On-site parking in the upper small courtyard lot and basement were both tight squeezes but still appreciated. Overall it was a great location and I would stay again."
