"We came across this place purely by chance, as we had a day in hand while driving across the state and were simply looking for somewhere with an outdoor pool for some R&R. What a find, and rather better than some random Hampton Inn!!! It's a beautiful place and even us jaded Brits were impressed with the historic house, the decor and the setting. The hosts were attentive and friendly but, with no other guests there, we really felt we had the place to ourselves. Would highly recommend."

"My family and I had an excellent stay. We arrived before check-in time and were more than willing to just drop our bags and go, but the staff went out of their way to find an available room and give us a chance to settle in. (We have two small kids so this was extra helpful.) The hotel looks brand new and everything was spotless and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the full size fridge! "We absolutely loved our stay at the Thornwald Mansion. It is nicely secluded in a park yet you are within walking distance to Dickinson College and a shopping center. The property has outstanding amenities and the food selections at breakfast were delicious. The service exceeded our expectations. The room and the bed were comfortable and very quiet. "We just needed a comfortable place after a long day’s drive, and this hotel was perfect. We also enjoyed walking around Carlisle as we got something to eat close by. The front desk person was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. :-)"

"We found ourselves in a position where we needed a room suddenly for the night as we were traveling and had a blown tire at 10pm. We were dropped off by the tow truck operator who gave us a ride and Jonathan was ready and waiting for us to check in. He could not have been more accommodating. After a harrowing evening, we were checked in and had a very good night’s sleep."
