    Enjoy the peaceful setting of this historical home located next to the North River. Built in the mid to late 1800's, the lovely home has been fully restored with modern amenities while maintaining its original charm. A wraparound porch offers amazing views. The porch swing is a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee! A large, private yard surrounds the home. Beside the river is a fire-pit and chairs for you to enjoy relaxing and making memories. Full of charm and unique quirks. Book today!

    SURROUNDING AREA Historic downtown Harrisonburg is minutes away where you can explore the fantastic restaurants, museums and shops. James Madison and Eastern Mennonite Universities are fifteen minutes away and Bridgewater College is practically next-door. The Shenandoah Valley offers many attractions including hiking, ski resorts, caverns, wineries and breweries. Massanutten Resort is less than 30 minutes away.

    All linens for bedding, towels and washcloths are provided. Paper goods such as toilet paper and paper towels are provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cups, utensils, cookware, microwave, toaster, blender, and regular drip and Keurig coffee makers. Simply bring your clothes, toiletries and food! Washer and dryer are available.

The house was beautiful. The owners were easy to contact and extremely accommodating. Sunsets were gorgeous. I would totally stay there again or recommend the house to a friend.

Wonderful stay, would definitely book this house again! It's a beautiful house on a beautiful property overlooking the river. Our daughter had a fun time watching the animals (birds, bunnies, cats, the neighbors dogs). The beds were comfy and the kitchen had a great gathering space for eating and hanging out! The TVs in the bedrooms were a nice touch to watch a movie too. We stayed up late around the bonfire, and they had provided wood for the stay so it was seemless.

Kitchen was beautiful and enjoyable to cook and dine in. Everything was spotless. The kids loved running up and down the hills and investigating the barn. They loved throwing rocks into the river and watching all of the wildlife. We hope to stay here again!!

We had a great stay! We were in town for graduation and needed space for the extended family. One of the best houses we’ve rented. The house was charming and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for a great weekend. We will plan on coming back again in the future.

We stayed here with a group of friends for a wedding down the road and it was perfect! 10 mins from JMU and it was so spacious and cozy.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house on the river. We and our family spent time at the fire pit by the river, on the expansive front porch, and around the dining table. It was a great place to gather, and a fine starting point for attending events and touring. Access to the house was easy, and everything was very well set up.

A beautiful treasure along the river. Disappointed I didn't get to sit down there because it was Arctic Cold. The house is beautiful and fully updated. I loved the floorplan and gives you the ability to host a full family or just stay to the first floor. I will be back.

Christmas at the river mill house

We had a wonderful family Christmas there. The house is very clean with comfortable beds and beautifully decorated. Plenty of room for the 7 of us to sit together whether we were eating, cooking or lounging. Loved the tranquility and the view out the kitchen window.
