"The location is great, especially if you’re planning to visit Buffalo Rock State Park, Matthiessen State Park, or Starved Rock. They also offer kayaking on-site, and I believe they offer discounts on kayaking if you’re staying at the campground.
The nearest towns are about 10–15 minutes away, so you’re still fairly close to restaurants, stores, and other necessities.
A few things to keep in mind: there are no showers, and the campground only has porta-potties. The grounds were okay but could...
