"Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The property has a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere and is a great place to unwind. However, there were a few issues that made our experience less enjoyable. We booked two rooms and submitted a request several days before our arrival through the booking platform, asking if the rooms could be located close to each other. After receiving no response from the hotel, I contacted the booking platform’s customer service and was assured that the request had been arranged....

"Okay place to spend a night but don’t expect any service. This place uses remote “staff” to run the joint. I called the “desk” around 6:30 pm with a request. Got a call back around noon the next day, when we were well on our way. No soaps, no shower cap. Only plus was an urn of good coffee in the otherwise empty lobby. Not much for $160 or so."

"This is a very basic and old motel. It was also very expensive for a one night stay, because of where it is located and the fact that it is high travel season. That said, the carpet is old and stinks, so the whole room smelled like old carpet. "I'm house-hunting in Hudson, so my wife and I have stayed in a few other hotels and B&Bs there. However, one night in Pocketbook and I'll definitely continue booking there. I don't understand the complaints about the noise or rude staff, becauee we experienced the exact opposite. The staff were warm & welcoming, and very friendly. Overnight, it was peaceful and quiet. "Great property. It is a contactless check in so make sure to read the messages sent by the property. Rooms are spacious and very nice. Wonderful restaurant on site, North Star, with great staff and awesome bartender. Stayed for a NASCAR race at Lime Rock Park and will definitely come back."

"Steven’s House (a Red Lion Annex across the street) is very “tired”. Exterior has severe wear with peeling paint and unkempt yard. Interior is much the same with wallpaper peeling in bathroom, a broken ice machine in the common area. The cleanliness is below expected for the price paid ( same as main hotel). Wooden railing to second floor is not really ideal with splinter potential from rough surfaces. Overgrown bushes as you exit dirt parking area are a terrible hazard as you cannot see...
