"Nice and convenient place to stay especially with early flights. Found check in was slow as was getting our bags to our room. Bar on top floor was great, staff super attentive. Comfortable beds and room was spacious."

"We stayed here overnight before flying out the next morning. Sure, it's an older hotel but it's well-maintained, has large rooms, the beds were comfortable, casting onto the TV screen was easy, there was a restaurant onsite (not that we used it), lots of vending machines, free parking, the staff were helpful, near the airport and best of all, there was a shop freezer with ice cream products such as Magnums, Trumpets and so on. Would absolutely recommend this hotel."

"Lovely place to stay, was impressed with the restaurant, and that we could leave our bags the next the day, as we were flying out that afternoon. Very nice room, very comfy. Also I inadertently booked the room the night before (such a dodo) couldnt get a refund but the front of house gave us 2 drinks on the house of anything we wanted. I thought that was a lovely gesture."

"A clean room and great people on staff. A warm welcome and airport pickup. I had issues with the TV but this was sorted quickly and they couldn't do enough. Oakwood is my 'go to' for overnight stays in Auckland both for domestic trips though Auckland and foreign travel. The people make this business. A great team!"

"Staff were amazing with checking in, but the mould in the bathroom was a major let down and the breakfast was subpar. No small plates for bread or fruit. The coffee cups were hidden and some ppl had just left there used ones near the utensils."

"The rooms are very small and basic and in need of a lick of paint. The room was clean and the bedding crisp and white. Don't expect any amenities in your room, they are basic and in a communal area in the hall. But that is explained in the room described. The showers and toilets are also communal and along the hall and are nice and clean. We were fortunate enough be given free upgrade to the Delux Ensuite Queen room by the owner of the hotel. "The property was fine and had everything you need but is very dated and needs a lot of repairs. Also one of our bedside lamps wasn’t working"

"The property was basic, but I was very pleased with what I got for the price. It was very clean, with lovely crisp clean linen (always my main concern). Shuttle to airport was $10 and left on time (beware they only run every couple of hours early morning at least - not sure how regular they are during the day). My room even had a little balcony. Would definitely stay there again."
