We absolutely loved our time here! Our room was clean and had every amenity needed. The staff was so kind and very helpful. We loved the staff at the restaurant and swim up bar. Everyone was so friendly and our apartment was amazing. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Lovely Villa

This is the nicest condo we have stayed in at the Villas de Cortez! Everything you need for an enjoyable stay and more. Kitchen is very well equipped. We enjoyed time on the balcony watching the fishing boats and used the recommendations for restaurants around Las Barriles. It truly was a perfect week.

Very clean, well equipped. We didn’t really use the kitchen but if we had this unit has everything we would have needed. Great location. Very cute decor and amazing view. We hope to return.

Los Barriles

Great vibe in LB. We met our friends there who were staying in the same building but on the ground floor and who have stayed numerous times. They knew their way around LB - restaurants, bars, road trips, sport fishing etc. So it made it really easy. LB is a very chill place compared to many of the more well known tourist destinations in Mexico. Great beach, snorkelling in the morning was outstanding (wind/wave or higher tide build up can obscure the visibility in the afternoon) 1200 meters walk south on the beach. All kinds of kite/wind/sail sports available there and I wish we had tried some but not enough time on this trip. Kelli is an outstanding host. Villa was great, very well equipped. Can’t really think of anything apart from perhaps a bit more vertical hanging space for clothes. But arguably, we brought too much luggage - big surprise for us…not. Really nice to have the reverse osmosis fresh water system. Once we got in the rhythm of filling a jug(s) and refrigerating it we were golden. Kelli was very responsive to all questions and got back to us in minutes for any questions. We are definitely interested in returning. We HIGHLY recommend Kelli, their villa and LB in general.

We spent a week at the Villas de Cortez. It’s the perfect location, lots of activities and restaurants within walking distance. Kelli’s condo was clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to our next trip!

A Gem

This was such a great place to stay. It was our first stay in this area of the baja and end up being the perfect location to everything. I loved that the villa pools were private to the villas. It never felt crowded. Kelli gave us great info before coming which made out stay better. She was also awesome with communication as was the grounds keeper. We would stay here again.

Best Get Away

Luv to stay at Villa de Cortez. Beautiful view, great location and helpful staff. Walking distance to great food & drinks, enjoy local concerts & souvenir shopping too. We love visiting Los Barriles, it's become a yearly thing!

Wonderful condo!

This condo is beautiful, well appointed, comfortable and has an amazing view. It also is in a great location, within walking distance of restaurants and activities. Pedro, the property manager, is on site almost daily and is super attentive to virtually any needs. Kelli, the owner, was also very responsive to a small glitch with the safe. We highly recommend this property.

Fabulous Los Barilles condo

Beautiful condo right on the beach - exactly as described in the listing. It was great having the little well supplied kitchen to fix some of our meals. Enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Perfect Location!!

This was the perfect condo for our stay in Los Barriles. Very clean and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Check in process was easy. The best thing about this villa is the view….breathtaking!! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend to family and friends.

Beautiful Unobstructed Ocean Front Condo

It was love at first sight! Everything was above and beyond our expectations upon arrival. Our flights were delayed in the states. As a result, we arrived in the evening. We contacted our host, Kelli and she immediately helped us to rearrange our transportation for the next day. Our driver was there waiting. He provided a cooler with ice and took us to gather a few staples at the nearest grocery store before our drive to Los Barriles. The van was comfortable and air coniditioned. Exhausted, we walked into our sparkling clean unit so perfectly arranged, took a look at the unobstructed view of the sea from our varanda and fell in love! Everything was as described and whatever we needed was at our fingertips, even Kelli, with her quick response to our text messages. She answered all our questions including providing additional tourist information on nearby attractions. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, including spices. It has a full sized refrigerator, and best of all, a brand new reverse osmosis water system!! This was very important to us as it decreases the need to buy plastic water bottles and we drink a lot of water! The dishwasher wasn't working during our visit and we couldn't care less. Everything else was so fabulous! The unit was accurately described! We especially loved our daily dose of the sunrise! We read about the sunrise in other reviews, bottom line, it's breathtaking! I even brought eye mask, thinking I would sleep in. However, I became addicted! Because, each morning, the sun uniquely rises for your eyes to behold. That is beyond words! We couldn't miss a day. We drank our coffee and did our morning meditations and journaling every day of our visit!! Since we were there for a month, it was fun to meet others. Every single person we encountered on the property and in the local stores and restaurants were happy and friendly! The front desk at the hotel was also helpful in answering any of our questions, gave us directions and helped us to rent a car. We tried all the places suggested by Kelli and loved. This was our first time out of our country for a month and we absolutely LOVED our home away from home. We could not find one negative thing to say about our stay and experience. We can't wait to come back! One last thing, the laundry service!! Five US dollars per load! We sent your clothes out and they came back warm and folded with a sweet fresh smell. Just, Wow! We loved every little thing!

Beautiful property, views, location, EVERYTHING

Check in process was effortless. Villa was gorgeous inside and out. Stunning views of pool deck, beach, sea. Two pools were a 5 min walk down the steps, including an infinity/zero entry pool with swim up bar. Kitchen and bathroom well-stocked with everything we needed. Pedro (maintenance man) introduced himself and was friendly and available. Beach and sea a 5 min. Walk away. Great snorkeling right out front!! Villas are a short walk to the center of town for groceries, tourist shops, restaurants. We definitely enjoyed our first visit to Los Barriles, and can’t wait to return!

Can't cover everything

This is a really nice property, very secure, with great views from the sliding door window. I realize that it's tough to catch all the little things when managing a property long-distance but here are some of the things we found. 1. The TV and Dish controllers both had battery corrosion, the Dish controller did not work at all. I bought some AAA batteries, cleaned and replaced the batteries in the Dish controller and reprogrammed it to control the TV. The TV controller still needs to be cleaned up and batteries replaced. 2. The bathroom vanity lights are intermittent, The day we left only the far right bulb illuminated. 3. The bed has a broken support board on the frame - makes a lot of noise when the outside person moves in certain ways,. 4. There is only 1 towel set for showers. Really needs 2 so you can alternate and hang try effectively. 5. The condo is really a studio, OK for 2 people but would be very awkward and crowded with 3. It's only about 600 sq ft. 6. Be VERY careful with the hot water, it's almost boiling temp! Other thoughts: 1. The pool was really warm, not really very refreshing. We swam in the ocean to cool off, which was very nice.There's a nice sandy area just to the north of the beach access gate (near the portable boat dock) where you don't have to wade out on rock. 2. Los Barriles is really a "fishing village" with limited resources and activities. If you don't like to fish, maybe pick another place. Overall: We had a great time and the town was worth at least a single visit. The fishing, snorkeling, and swimming was fun but the restaurants and activities I felt were a little disappointing - we actually ended up cooking our own dinners 3 of the 7 evenings we were there because we found the restaurants to be mid-quality and expensive. (Actually, there are no bargains in this town, most of prices were close to what we pay in the US). We travel to different sites in Baja every year, so it's off to Loreto next year. We may return to Los Barriles sometime in the distant future but it won't be on a regular basis.
