Be aware about the credit card SCAM !
I celebrated my 50th Birthday on March 2025. My partner and I had a restaurant reservation for 11 people and two nights stay in St. Regis Longboat Key Resort. Here’s the start of the PROBLEM: I got charged twice for the stay (paid through Expedia and then I got charged directly from the hotel). When I checked out, this mistake was acknowledged by the front desk representative. The overcharged money was supposed to be refunded in a few days…but its already end of May 2025 & the disputed money has not been refunded yet!
I called their accounting department twice and both times I was asked to wait for 10 days. Result: NOTHING!...
After multiple phone calls I finally received an apology letter and I was told that I got an approval from the manager, but to wait another 10 days. When I did not receive my $3,180, I called again but this time I wanted to ask for the transaction number so I can check it with my bank. However, the accounting department never bothered to respond to my phone calls and messages.
So after 2 personal stops at the hotel, multiple phone calls with false reassurances and almost 2 months of waiting, since I opened the case, the PROBLEM IS STILL OPEN and UNRESOLVED!
As a local resident I was excited to have five stars hotel nearby, but what a terrible experience and disappointment at the end.
