"Me and my partner always stay here for a local get away, always LOVE it however was hit with an eye sore of £35 car parking bill, it used to be £11 overnight in the NCP across the road so probably will book elsewhere from now on."

"The modern room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I slept well, not disturbed by any other guests. The biggest win for me was the fantastic value for money which meant I could afford a 5 night stay. Buses into the city were frequent though I could walk to town centre in 15-20 minutes. "

"Our stay felt luxurious and relaxing. Room was very comfortable and quiet. We also had the opportunity to use the pool which was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. It's a bit harder getting here with public transportation. We walked from Pontyclun station which was okay but others may want to make sure they pre-arrange transportation if needed."

"The club room was colourful, clean, spacious with a powerful shower, comfortable bed and enough to get around. Seemed a pretty quiet hotel but we stayed on a Sunday evening. No fan or air conditioning in room but we stayed cool. The pool/spa and gym were fantastic with us being able to get a locker for free. "Lovely hotel,very clean with friendly staff. One down point was our room wasn't cleaned one day, this didn't bother us as we keep things clean anyway. This didn't impact our stay and we both had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend away, we would definitely visit again"

"The first room we were out in totally stunk of smoke, we rang reception and they moved us to a new upgraded room! The staff were lovely. The breakfast has changed to buffet style instead of ordering from a menu, and definitely isn’t as good now. Overall good stay though. "

"From walking through the door, the young man on reception was polite, explained everything and with a smile. The room was clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. At breakfast the experience continued to be brilliant, the lady explained the way Breakfast was a buffet and where things were. Wonderful view looking out over the wharf. Food was of a high Standard. "Close to Cardiff airport - 5 min by taxi. Restaurant has good food at reasonable price. Bus service to Cardiff. We stayed there when we arrived in Cardiff plus when we departed. Property is well kept and rooms were 3 star as reported. All good for a one night stay."

"The Holiday Inn is in an excellent location for the castle and everything Cardiff has to offer. The lobby, bar and breakfast area are modern and welcoming; and the buffet breakfast was very good. My only criticism was that our room, although large with a comfy bed, was a bit tired and shabby; it lacked the modern touches that the reception and restaurant have been furnished with and the bathroom is small and a bit drab. As we were staying on a concert weekend the room rate was higher than usual...

"This was not our first visit and we are so glad we booked to come again! Staff are all friendly, nothing is too much trouble & whilst it’s not guaranteed we were lucky with an early check in! Make sure you stay for breakfast, it’s delicious with a beautiful view! We will definitely come back! "
