"A lovely property with a great pub. The food was excellent and thankfully the weather was sunny and warm. What a wonderful evening to eat outside in their Olive Garden. The owners and the staff were all so helpful in guiding us to a sweet evening stroll. We knew they had great reviews and they are well deserved. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and cool. Thank you! "

"Beautifully presented, stylish property and very comfortable. Nicely situated on the High Street for all local pubs and restaurants. Check in and checkout were super easy. Hughly recommended for a stay in Maldon."

"GreyFriars is probably the best hotel in Colchester I believe it was once a public school and has retained the character of the building The staff although somewhat distant are really good at there jobs The upgrade that was given to us was really appreciated Thank you "

"Nice comfortable hotel an easy walking distance from everything in Colchester. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good quality. I liked the fact that breakfast is 'a la carte', as that reduces wastage. Cleanliness is good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!"

"Absolutely amazing! The staff were fabulous, and so friendly, and very accommodating. Thank you so much Rosie and colleagues. Our rooms were immaculately clean with lovely bathrooms, and a picnic breakfast basket. I highly recommend this beautiful pub/ hotel."

"Very old world so just what we like,unfortunately weather spoilt it for walking.good parking.but thought price for very small room a bit too much.and too many stairs for elderly folk!Breakfast was excellent!"

"Nice room with large ensuite. Only stayed 1 night but room was quiet and very comfortable. 20 mins walk to main centre. Only bad thing was roadworks and diversions everywhere but not property's fault!"

"What a beautiful hotel. Clean , tidy , spacious, friendly,comfortable… there is nothing about this property not to like. Definitely found a little gem here. Would recommend the limes 100%. The staff were amazing to tip it off 10/10 "

"Spacious room - staff very helpful- beautiful surroundings - lovely breakfast - asked to extend room for 1 hour and no quibble. Even an electric charge point - sadly did not get to experience the spa. Will definitely stay again "

"We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round ."

"A really nice hotel rooms are modern large and clean with nice views. Staff are all very nice. The menu was a bit limited but beautiful food."

" We found the Victory Inn at Mersea to be very comfortable and the service was brilliant. Staff were especially helpful and the position was great for my 6 year old grandson as he spent lots of time in the play area and we could keep our eye on him. We will definitely be booking again for sometime in the summer for a longer stay."

"The staff were very helpful. The location was perfect. The room by the courtyard garden was quite cold for a stay in January, the bed had a thin fleece blanket over the duvet, but could do with something thicker for January. Breakfast had a brilliant selection, and the staff were very attentive."
