Lovely stay. Felt like you were in the jungle. Highly recommend the night time frog walk tour. We had Milor as our guide and he was fun and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of fascinating wildlife and learned about the local ecosystem.

The host family are Thee nicest people we have ever met, they were over and beyond above any our expectations, that is putting it mildly. We wished we stayed longer.I promise you that you stay there you won’t be disappointed.

The house is large and very comfy. The garden is worth staying an extra day for. In the mornings if you sit still and quiet , you will see many birds and butterflies. It's a bit of paradise. The kitchen area is wonderful. I think the listing is a bit misleading as the map shows you will be in La Fortuna, but it is about a 40 minute drive, so you will need a car to stay here comfortably.

Lovely home on the edge of a beautiful backyard bird sanctuary. Very clean with comfortable beds. Host was wonderful and took us on a night walk where we saw frogs, birds, and spiders. Home is quite a ways from La Fortuna. Plan on an hour drive to get to most activities.

This was great. Spacious and authentic. The owner met us and walked us through the house - she was wonderful. Her and her property manager were very responsive and everything was so smooth. Rent it!!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful property and hostess family. The frog tour was wonderful and such an amazing experience around the area! Would recommend staying here!

The home was very comfortable and property was beautiful. Maricel was extremely nice and helpful and treated us like family. The house is very spacious and the property had a beautiful lake with cool frogs and birds

Maricel and her son greeted us so kindly and instantly made us feel welcome in their home. They were very accommodating, and their communication was wonderful throughout our stay. The garden was beautiful, and their frog tour was a fun treat when we arrived.I don't think the amount we paid was a fair representation of the quality of home we received. The bathrooms were very outdated, and we couldn't get hot water consistently. Because my kids are tall, we had to remove the mattresses from the beds so they could fit better, and they had to sleep on the floor, where everyone got bug bites. I seem to have overlooked this when booking, and I take responsibility for that. It's good to know if you're traveling with teenagers. My second complaint was that the listing stated that La Fortuna was 35 minutes away. However, every day, GPS told us 45-55 minutes, and of the 4 times we drove back and forth into town, it was never under an hour. The location was beautiful, and the hosts were exceptional. However, it didn't serve my family's needs well, and even though we lost money, we made the decision to leave early.

Gorgeous stay with beautiful scenery

I stayed with my family and had such an amazing stay. The tour included was so nice and learned a lot. Saw cool frogs and other animals. The house was clean, the host are so helpful with anything we needed. Will come back if I do come to La fortuna

Magnifique!

Emplacement magnifique, mais un peu difficile à trouver puisqu'aucun écriteau n'annonce l'endroit. Les hôtes sont chaleureux et accueillants. Le végétation est sublime.

I had an excellent time at this location. The house was clean, spacious and private. Maricel and her family were excellent hosts that were extremely accommodating. I loved that this property has a patch of rainforest with plenty of wildlife to observe; it made the stay that much more enjoyable.

Little jungle getaway

The host family was amazing. Very warm and welcoming. The night frog tour was great and so was the tour of the property. Learning about the history of the property was fabulous. The accommodations really made you feel like you were in the Costa Rican jungle.

We really enjoyed the hosts, night hike around the property, local home made breakfast. Modern functional house with Wi-Fi. For those looking for creature comfort, it is a bit more rustic, AC only in master area. We loved the visit would go again. Nice outdoor spaces.

Hidden Paradise

This was my first trip to Costa Rica where I actually had an opportunity to relax. And relax I did! The location is very remote so it's very quiet. I really enjoyed focusing on all the different species of beautiful birds and plants. The house wes very clean (and large). The host and the entire family were very friendly and accommodating. Anyara even arranged for transportation for us (no Uber in this area).

Visite de la région de l'arenal

Un peu loin du volcan mais un merveilleux endroit avec beaucoup d'activité pour tous. Pour les amateurs de la nature le site est exceptionnel avec plusieurs espèces de grenouilles et une panoplie de flore et faune La visite nocturne des jardins vaut le détour. Les hôtes sont génial. Best VRBO experience ever!

Beautiful house clean & well equipped, nestled in tropical rain forest, stream, pond and birds. The kindness, thoughtfulness and availability of host family is outstanding (they even came to find us when we were lost the first night). Sharing breakfast with the family in an outdoor kitchen was an unparalleled experience. Thank you for being such generous and gracious hosts and for your environmental awareness.

House is beautiful. If your a birder or nature lover its a paradise. Frogs everywhere. Gardens were stunning. Host lives next door, And made us a wonderful breakfast. Ill be back!

Costa Rica vacation

The best thing was the host and her family wonderful people who are passionate about the flora and fauna and share that passion with their guest. The grounds around the house are beautifully kept and have all kinds of wildlife there. The son Jefferson will take you on a night frog tour which was awesome and very informative. The house was very clean and good for a large group. Would definitely recommend.

A Tropical Oasis

This family made our whole trip!! They were so kind and generous, left us cacao fruit, coffee and pastries when we arrived. Jefferson took us on an amazing night tour and showed us the nocturnal frogs on the property. Then his sister took us through all of the various fruit trees and we got to drink coconut water from coconuts and eat fresh sugarcane. It was an amazing experience and we really enjoyed spending time with their family.
