Neither Expedia nor Holiday Inn Express informed us that the hotel was under major renovation. "Door was not easy to lock with doorknob lock and that was an issue since there was no deadbolt. No person at location for check in. It took a trip across town to get a room key from the desk guy of another hotel. Rustic is the vibe they were shooting for, but I would just call the overall condition old and tired. Expedia would not let me post the picture I took of the chair in the room that looked more like a refugee from a landfill that a piece of hotel furniture."

"This property was opened in 1950 (says so on the sign) and it is a vintage property. Don't expect all the perks that you get at a chain hotel. The room was very clean. There is a small (no vanity or bathtub) bathroom, a little kitchen area with a sink, small fridge and microwave, and coffee/coffee maker. "Nice facility. Very clean and quiet. Polite and friendly staff. Breakfast was okay. Except the coffee, both the in-room packets and the on-demand coffee machine in the breakfast room were very bad. Hope they replace with better brands soon. "

"The rooms were cleaned as well as possible but there is mold growing on the silicone on top of the showers in both rooms. There are tears and bunching of the carpet in the rooms. "

The AC unit in the bedroom is a bit loud and ticks when it kicks on, but it was nice and cool in the hot weather. Ample supplies in the kitchen for coffee, and bathroom toiletries for the night.
