Coleridge Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms
Built in 1880, this traditional Lakeland cottage was originally constructed to house teachers in the old school (now the Rawnsley Centre) opposite. Retaining many original features, and simple stylish decoration, this centrally located house has views of Skiddaw and Latrigg to the front, and a magnificent mountain vista to the rear. The property is a mere two minutes' walk to the heart of Keswick.
The ground floor, slate-floored throughout, comprises an entrance hallway, leading into a bright and spacious open plan sitting room and dining room, with Smart TV/DVD/WiFi facilities, and a welcoming wood-burning stove.The dining room looks out onto the enclosed stone-walled yard, which is perfect to enjoy sunny breakfasts and barbecues.
The modern and well equipped slate floored kitchen features a gas hob with electric oven, dishwasher and microwave, and a downstairs cloakroom leading off the kitchen has a WC, sink and washing machine.
Upstairs the master bedroom, with views of Catbells and beyond, boasts a king-sized bed and plenty of storage space.
A second double room features twin beds and similarly dramatic views.
The third bedroom, looking out onto Latrigg, has a single/small double bed. All bedrooms include cool cotton linens and towels.
The luxury wood paneled shower room comprises a large walk-in shower, WC and hand basin.
Additionally there is an outbuilding to the rear where bicycles may be securely stored (please bring own lock) and shared garden. Parking permit is provided for car park opposite.

Brilliant Christmas Break
Excellent equipped cottage (prob the best we have stayed in), comfy, clean and great location.
Welcome pack for us & the dog were a lovely touch
From start to finish Keswick Cottages were superb, would always be our 1st choice when booking

Well located with a good social space
In the heart of Keswick with beautiful views. Supermarkets a few minutes away. Good social space downstairs, with a log burner. Good sized, comfortable bedrooms. Would definitely return

Great place
Great place to stay. Very clean and spacious. Bike shed is a bonus and parking near by.

Lovely property

Coleridge Cottage.
A lovely cottage in a handy location close to the town centre. Parking 300 yards away so difficult to unload and load up as double yellow lines outside. Internally very nice and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. All in all highly recommended but be aware of the parking issue.

great central location
Very spacious cottage. Well maintained. On the main street but not at all noisy. Very convenient for central Keswick facilities, 23 min walk. Would stay again for sure and Keswick cottage staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Parking nearby was easy.

Lovely cottage
Very comfortable cottage. very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Good location and handy for shops, pubs etc bit of a pain not having on site parking and easy access to unload and load luggage.

Perfect location
2nd stay in this lovely house. The location on the very edge of town is perfect for a diverse group , everyone can go out of the front door and do whatever they want then meet up later for a meal at the massive dining table. Great to get a parking permit as we hardly used the car.

Just on the edge of town, close to the shops and pubs. Parking a little walk away in town but not a huge issue until it rains!

Another lovely week in Keswick at Coleridge Cottage which is so convenient for annual Convention. Cottage showing signs of needing some tlc but this did not change our opinion.

Incredible
I was going to title this review no words! However I do have plenty!!! Im just not sure they'll be enough.
What a beautiful weekend we had.
Not only was the cottage absolutely stunning both inside and out byt the support we had from the keswick cottage team were second to none.
The cottage itself was better then we pictured from both the images we saw and descriptions provided. It qas so spacious and beautiful.
It was so clean on arrival and the added extra of a Christmas tree just made it extra special.
All the details provided on how to look after the cottage, attractions near by, what to do and extras * such as additional parking, wood provided just made it hassle free, no stress and felt like home!!!
We had an amazing weekend. We visit keswick all the time and have done for years and years and I nust say this time everything felt so homely and made us all feel so content and happy.
But the team are the real star of the show here.... nothing was to big or small. They were so supportive, considerate, thoughtful, kind, attentive and made our stay that extra special.
Any questions were answered so quickly and were always there for help if needed (although we didnt need anything whilst there). Everything down to direction to the cottage and parking were so detailed and nothing was missed.
I dont think myself, friends and family will ever book with anyone else again!
Thank you so much for the team for making our little Christmas girls weekend extra special.

Recent Vacation 2024
As ever the stay at the cottage was excellent in our eyes. As usual the property was spick and span with all the necessary items to have an enjoyable stay. The property is within walking distance to the town centre, Booths and Derwentwater, hence why we choose the property yet again for our stay. The only issue that we didn't realise this time, was that the car could not be parked in carpark opposite the house as we could do in the past. This was our error in not reading the full description of the property which did mention the change. We parked in the Central Carpark for the duration of our holiday with no issues.

A lovely, spacious cottege in a great location.
We had a lovely week stay at Coleridge cottage. It is ideally situated, being a short stroll into Keswick town centre. Unloading the cars with our belongings took about 10 minutes, shuttling it across from the carpark, directly opposite. The road is quite busy, but there is a pedestrian crossing, roughly 50m from the cottage, making it a safe process. The cottage itself was very clean and well equipped and we took advantage of using the log burner on a couple of occasions, which was nice. Plenty of room in the
Kitchen, which was also well equiped. I would suggest a vew more glasses/ tumblers, for that nightcap ;) (Brandy, whiskey, Baileys etc) & would also recommend the provision of a First aid kit and possibly a wall mounted rechargable torch, for those late evening, dark dog toilet breaks . We used the grassy areas, directly across the road from this purpose, which was ideal.
All in all, an excellent place to stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Coleridge Cottage
We have stayed at Coleridge Cottage before but on this visit we were pretty disappointed and will not be booking it again. The lack of adequate parking close to the property is a major draw back especially when unloading and loading gear. Cleanliness of the cottage was not great either, badly stained rugs, discarded sweet wrappers, human hair, corroded cutlery, chipped mugs, old dried food on cutlery and plates. Although disappointing it did ruin our holiday and having stayed with Keswick Cottages before we know this is not their normal standard of delivery but we will not be booking Coleridge again.

Highly recommended
Coleridge Cottage is a fabulous property. The location is great being close to shops, pubs, eateries, walks and local attractions and easy to find on arrival. The cottage is spacious yet homely, furnished to a lovely standard and well maintained. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need whether you want takeaways, to cook a roast dinner or bake scones and the dishwasher to clean it all up for you. The separate utility room was a great bonus with downstairs toilet, washing machine and full size kitchen sink. The outside courtyard was lovely too as we were lucky to have lovely weather and could leave the back door open so the dog could be nosey and look through the gate, we didn’t use the garden table and chairs outside on our stay. The house was always warm even on the chilly mornings and we found no need to use the log burner. It was good to have a folder with all manuals for appliances in the lounge drawer. There was a great selection of books, puzzles and games should you need to occupy yourself with those. The wifi signal is strong and consistent throughout the property including the outside courtyard.
Long stay public permit parking is not next to the property but only a few minutes walk away due to the great location of the property. Free parking on public roads can be found in various locations nearby too.
All in all we (4 adults and a dog) would recommend Coleridge Cottage and be happy to stay here again.
Keswick Cottages are also fantastic to deal with when booking a holiday stay.

Winter break in Keswick
We had a lovely stay at Coleridge Cottage which was spacious and well equipped. The cottage is in an excellent location for both the town centre and there’s lots of fabulous walks within easy reach; the woods, lakeshore, Fitz park and the village of Portinscale which we and our dogs really enjoyed. Having a permit for the car park opposite the property was very useful with plenty of spaces available.
