The home was very comfortable and plenty of space for ten adults. The pool was a huge hit as was the convenient location to shops and restaurants. The house was well stocked with everything you need, which was a nice touch. Overall, a wonderful experience with our family full of awesome memories!

Place was clean. Pool was awesome. Plenty of space for the 8 of us. Great communication with host! Sure, the house isn’t a new home, but it was more about our time together and being outside at the pool. We enjoyed ourselves very much. I would rent again!

We had a wonderful time at this home; it was immaculate and well appointed. And it is so private and peaceful with wonderful views from every room. We had rented this home for an extended time during the off season 30 years ago and wanted to return to honor and remember those in our family who so enjoyed the house and who are no longer with us. So it was a small family gathering this time to recall the days when our family would enjoy lobster dinners, Bennett's Philly cheesesteak, breakfast at All Day Breakfast and time on Parson's Beach. Remembering those days, I highly recommend for your extended family. It is a special place.

Wonderful place filled with charm

We had a very nice stay in early summer. Very nice place with a ton of different rooms. A nice older place with lots of charm and unique nooks and crannies. Owner was very responsive when we had some very small issues. Pool was nice and location was wonderful! Would definitely stay again

We had a great stay overall at a beautiful location. There were some issues with maintenance of the property that I mentioned to the owner and cleaners, and they planned to address. The pool is spectacular, and the location fantastic. The house needs some TLC, but we enjoyed our stay.

This is a great property especially for a large family or group of friends. We had 3 generations spread out in the large property. The pool was a real plus. We spent half our time in the ocean and half in the pool. It is very private and very scenic.

Parson’s Beach Kennebunk

Location is amazing! Very private, secluded, and a lovely walk to a very private beach. Also close to Kennebunkport and a Ogunquit. Convenient to stores as well. House was spacious. We especially enjoyed all of the outdoor space. Screened porch is a nice bonus, and the pool was enjoyed by all.

Perfect Family Spot

The house is the perfect size for a family. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the game room, heated pool and short distance to the beach. The property was beautiful (minus the construction next door). Definitely bring bug spray, due to the wet weather the mosquitos were everywhere! Thank you Helen for sharing your house! It was a wonderful family vacation!

This property has alot to offer a large group. Our group of 8 adults, 3 dogs and a toddler had ample room to spread out and be comfortable. The home is nicely decorated with good, sturdy furniture. When we arrived everything was spotlessly clean and ready for us. The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of dishes cutlery, pots and pans. We had everything we needed. The host was quick to respond to a couple of small maintenance issues that were fixed quickly.The bedrooms were great. One had a sitting area with a slider to a veranda looking east to enjoy sunrise right from your bed. Another had a separate entrance with a small deck and lots of room. One had an en suite bath. The other rooms were located in a loft area accessed by a tricky spiral stairway, but both were comfortable and pretty.We loved the outdoor spaces! There is a nice screen porch that opens to an open deck with a Weber gas grill and to the wonderful heated pool! Since we were there early in the summer, we used the heater and enjoyed many warm swims day and night.The property is quite secluded with a bumpy dirt driveway and lots of parking. Beware of the ticks if you bring dogs. It was a 15 minute walk to Parson's Beach, a lovely morning walk. Parking is very limited there so we shuttled folks back and forth by car on beach days.. This is an old house so it is not luxurious. But it is a comfortable, clean and private place for a big group. We loved our stay.

Coastal Maine Wonderland

My family and I heartily recommend Helen’s place if: You fancy a morning or evening walk on a beautiful, nearly-empty beach, after a short stroll down a forested lane. You enjoy a swim in a beautiful, big, constantly-heated pool that looks over lake, field and forest as far as you can see. You like a big, rangy, comfortable house with all the conveniences and room for a big group but intimate privacy on several decks with landscape views. You like being just minutes from a beautiful Maine coastal town, while staying in a natural landscape so still at dawn that you can hear the birds wake up, one by one. We like all those things and, after many years of renting summer houses, we found Helen’s place to be the most memorable.

Parson's Beach Maine Vacation

The Property Common Space is very roomy and comfortably furnished. Some of the bathrooms and bedrooms could use a little work and updating. With children and beach toys etc. You really cant easily walk to the beach from the house and you need to drive about a 1/2 mile to a private space near the beach and the beach - Parsons beach is a gem ! There is a private pool at the house that could also use a little care but is great after a day at the beach. There is also an outdoor shower to wash the beach sand off. You do also have a partial ocean view from 1 bedroom. Overall the property is a bit quirky but nice and it works for a larger family.

House in disrepair. Safety issues. Windows nailed shut, missing screens, broken screens, unstable entry way to the house and pool, only 3 A/C for a 5 bedroom (can't open windows). One ceiling fan broken and one missing. Kitchen poorly stocked, very little kitchen utensils, Screen doors were duck taped. Pool railing unstable. Really hot the week we stayed and very stressful with young children. We would have left but we had family and friends fly in for the vacation. Had we not, we would have left The pool it self was wonderful. The physical property it self was nice. Deer eating on the property at evening.The parking pass to the town beach was great. Wonderful town breach

Mixed Experience, But Appreciated Owner's ResponseI recently stayed at this property and had a mixed experience. While the place has potential and matched the description in many ways, there were a few issues that affected our stay.There were some maintenance and cleanliness concerns that made things less comfortable than expected. It wasn't anything extreme, but definitely noticeable enough to impact our experience. That said, I really appreciated how the owner handled the situation. After I brought the concerns to her attention, she responded quickly and addressed the concerns in a fair and respectful way. It’s clear she cares about guest feedback and wants to do the right thing. With a little more attention to detail, this place could be a great stay. I’d consider giving it another try in the future based on how well the owner handled things.

In general, the property met our needs well. It had a large common area that allowed for gathering with family and several additional gathering spaces. The beds were comfortable and there were plentiful linens and towels. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped and the dining area was pleasant. The kids loved the heated pool and, despite the wobbly railing leading to the shallow end, they had an amazing time. All that being said, the property is in serious need of better maintenance. From planters with dead flowers to a front porch taped off as dangerous to garbage/recycles not emptied before our visit to linens left in the dryer to front porch weather stripping pulled away to a full day not being able to use the pool as the heater had failed to function and multiple other issues, it was apparent that more care needed to be paid to the property...and if done, would have made it entirely pleasant. In addition, the advertised game room was a complete disappointment with old, incomplete games, no bocce set , corn hole targets but no bean bags and incomplete puzzles crammed into what is essentially a storage room. Also, note that despite the statement in the listing, only 3 of the 5 bedrooms have air conditioning. We also did have a bit of a run-in with Parsons Beach residents over beach access.All that being said, we did enjoy our stay and would consider renting again if we were assured that improvements had been made to the property and its on-going maintenance.

The Farmhouse was enjoyable and very roomy

When driving there we came in the back way and found the front way later. Walking into the house was the stairway going upstairs. the kids loved it so they had the 2 rooms and and bath. the rest of the house was delightful and cozy and loved the view and the pool and the beach was not what we from the south are used to but it was relaxing. I reccomend this house for large families..

Wonderful vacation home

I spent a week at the house with my sons, nephews, and other extended family. The house was a perfect size for us all and had all the amenities that we needed. The property is peaceful and we enjoyed watching the wildlife that wandered through and butterflies that fluttered all around the fields. The heated pool is fabulous and the kids hardly wanted to go to the beach because they had so much fun in the pool. The reserved parking space at the beach was great and the beach rarely had more than a handful of people on it. Parson’s Beach is beautiful and relaxing and there are lots of rocks and tide pools for kids to explore. It was easy to communicate with Helen and she responded quickly to any questions. I highly recommend this house for a relaxing beach vacation!

Convenient to beautiful beach and the Kennebunks

Quirky but convenient home close to Kennebunk and Kennebunkport where we enjoyed kayaking, biking and whale watching with local tour groups. Beach was beautiful and the pool provided a nice alternative to the chilly and sometimes rough ocean.

Great location!

The highlight of this house is the location-It’s beautiful and close to beaches. The house is certainly different but very functional. We all agreed the beds are very comfy, having two kitchens was a treat, excellent washer dryer, dishwasher, and lots of outside spots to hang out. Helen is very easy to reach if you have questions or concerns. Some parts of house could use some TLC, but the location is a 10 plus.

Wonderful Maine Experience

The house was perfect for a group of five that ranged in ages from 8 to 83. The house has so many different rooms we hardly had time to explore them all. It offers the best of two worlds — a heated pool to swim and an amazing beach to explore. We rarely left the property but Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are just moments away for take out and exploring. Helen was easy to communicate with and provided lots of information on the house and things to do. Great experience!

Great Maine family vacation

We certainly had plenty of space to spread out. We were fortunate to have a really hot summery week. We all loved the pool but also spent many hours at both the private Parsons Beach and several other Kennebunk beaches. Our hostess was very accessible and bent over backwards to make everything really enjoyable
