The host is super nice. It’s really cold inside the cabin 2 of the rooms look a little creepy. But overall it was a fun experience.

Lots of fun, a very cute cozy place. Rat/mice droppings in every corner but that’s to be expected in this area and everything else seemed clean. The karaoke machine did not work. Could not get ahold of host on check in day but it worked out fine.

Quiet, Fun, and Comfortable

We found this a great place to stay while exploring Julian, a local gold mine, and taking our grandsons to Sea World in San Diego. The grandsons had a great time playing pool for the first time and there was a lot of other things for them to do. It was in a great area and was very quiet. Everyone enjoyed their stay.

Cozy

Pros: Nice neighborhood, large yard, nice owner. Cons: Clean enough, but not great. Photos make it look larger than it is (hard to get five people at dining table), master is in an open loft and gets hot when fireplace is used.

A great cabin!

We had a wonderful time here! First, the beds were very comfortable and our entire party slept well each night. The kitchen was fully stocked and the living spaces were comfortable and good for game nights. We appreciated both the wall heater and the wood stove- very cozy for the cold weather! Also, the trees around the property were gorgeous- we were surrounded by fall colors. Check-in & check-out were simple and easy. The location is perfect- near to town but far away enough to be peaceful. Our teens enjoyed the games (fooz ball and pool) and our little dog enjoyed the fenced in yard. All in all, a perfect trip for our family!

Quaint small town in Julian CA

We had a wonderful time in the charming small town, where there was plenty to explore. Our visit to Main Street was delightful, filled with unique gift shops and historical buildings. While the town offered a peaceful atmosphere, we especially cherished our time in the cabin with family. At the Julian cabin, we made the most of our stay with various games, enjoying the pool table and poker table. Although the karaoke machine wasn’t charging—an unfortunate setback—it didn’t dampen our spirits since we had a streaming service to watch movies together. Unfortunately, we experienced a mishap when one of our guests fractured his toe, which prevented us from visiting Lake Cuyamaca as we typically do. Despite this, it was still a lovely trip overall, and our host was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout our stay.

We showed up on time and reached out to the host through the app. No response. Called, no answer. Texted, no response. Called VRBO to help and they said it's double booked and we can't stay. We are already at the property. Think of that. You arrive at your destination for 8 people and that's when they decide to not let you into the property. No text, no call, no message to let us know. Then VRBO says we can find another place up to the cost of the original cost and they will refund the amount we already paid. There are no places to stay anywhere near and no help from VRBO to find a place. Bad experience all the way around. Not recommended for a stay.

Great location for Julian

There were issues with cleanliness, but we had a lot of contact with Linda, the host and I believe she is on top of correcting that. The place is part modern, part rustic and a work in progress. Linda has more plans to modernize it, but understandably it is not easy to do it all at once. Linda is very helpful and wants her place to be a great place to stay. The kitchen is updated and very nice. The living room is a bit small for any more than 4 - 5 adults. Lots of games and stuff to do (we didn't use any of it, but for those with kids would be ideal.). Julian is nearby but it is a drive, not a walk. Julian is a beautiful area but if you don't like crowds don't go on the weekends.

Terrible stay

We had problems with air conditioners leaking water all over the floors. Mouse/rat infestation…we have pictures of feces in the house…but the odor was awful…had to close the door to a room and bought febreze spray to try to not have house smell so terrible. Bunk beds infested with fleas…so much laundry to do when at home as well as washing dogs and people. Horrible and no response from owner to date. Other people had good stays but we did not. First horrible no host response. Do not stay here…unless you want fleas.

nice location/unfortunate event

Property was nice and clean. Host was very friendly but there was a broken fridge that prevented us from enjoying our stay as I had wished. Host had purchased another one and was trying to have it installed as we arrived to the house. Her handy man did not come thru for her. This made it unfortunate for my family time. We worked out of an ice chest which we brought with us. We ran out of toilet paper, there were balls missing from pool table, the karaoke machine did not have good batteries. My bedroom did not have sheets on bed (only a comforter over the mattress. We changed our plans and ended up going out into town, and did mostly outside activities during our weekend in Julian. We would have liked to spend more time enjoying the games at the Game House. Guest was friendly and tried but my family time was not what we planned.

Please take my word - do not stay. It’s worse than if you were to camp outside in the dirt. Bed sheets mice feces and urine. Place hasn’t been dusted in a very long time - light fixture in living rooms has layers of cob web. I was going to rinse some fruit and walk to the kitchen sink. I couldn’t believe it. I looked closer and it was a dead mouse! Picture attached. I was going to try look past everything. But the mouse was the last straw. I couldn’t even sit there any longer. We left. I was looking forward to this. Owner offered send handyman housekeeper but I already saw what I saw. Place should have been cleaned up before anyone stays. Pays to stay. I could not unsee what I saw. There had to be more awfulness but only seeing the surface in a half hour. Host said sorry I felt that way. Who wouldn’t. So disgusting and disappointing. I’ve been to many bed and breakfast and nothing like this. Me and family drive home. Ridiculous. No one could even sit on the couch any longer. What would be under the cushions. Who is sleeping in those beds. Doesn’t matter that it took someone to complain that the host sends someone to clean. Shouldn’t it be clean when a guest pays and goes. Really bad business. Host didn’t even agree to reimburse. Even 1/2 of the money. Nothing offered and denied my request. Besides not staying the weekend. We left 1/2hr into it. What I saw in just that 1/2 hour nobody should have go through that. Unless you’re camping outside. DO NOT GO.
