"The room was very clean and new! Sunny, the daytime contact was super! The neighbors hood was sketchy but the property was very protected. The shower doors wouldn’t stay shut, there was no tv in the room, no trash can except for bathroom. Parking was something to be desired. We had to buy a fan because the room was hot and you can’t control the air. If you wanted clean towels, you had to wash your own ( very strange)."

Overall, everything looked clean at first, but once we started noticing the little details, it didn’t feel like a deep clean had been done. "I enjoyed my stay. Staff was nice and it's a nice hotel. It would had been nice if there were more options to eat near by the hotel or if the hotel had a restaurant. The only thing I can say that was negative was the was a fairly big stain on my sheets by the head of the bed. We got in after midnight on the first night so I did not inspect the sheets until the next morning and there was also a stain on a pillow. The stains on the sheets and pillow are the only reason for 4 stars and not 5"

"Entire property and room was very clean, staff extremely friendly and professional, every member was pleasant to interact with. Kitchen staff and cleaning crew also nice and friendly. Water pressure at the faucet and shower was great! Room had all the necessary amenities including fridge and microwave. Air conditioning and complimentary breakfast were also good, with the added bonus of proximity to Universal Studios. My family enjoyed the stay and we have no complaints. Would definitely comeback...

"They changed it a lot and not for the better. They removed their iconic gift shop completely. TV’s in the room don’t face the bed or any seating in the room (very weird). The bar is still expensive, but the food menu has drunk. They have downsized a lot. I was extremely disappointed with the stay. The Hotel Bel Air is not the iconic place it once was, sadly. "

Hotel is being remodeled which we didn’t know about. Made the stay noisy and felt less than ideal since restaurant is being remodeled. Phones didn’t work in the room. “Kitchen” amenities were non existent. I honestly don’t know how this place had such a great rating."

"The property is nice and retro feeling. Has a really cool patio you can sit up top & look on the beautiful mountain views. The staff is so nice and helpful. The ladies were so sweet ! A shuttle to universal was provided, Which was so helpful and both drivers made my son & I feel very comfortable. Telling us about their favorite rides and drove safely.
