"The first room we checked into was next to an internal door which kept being slammed by noisy guests. We were moved to another room by a lovely and helpful member of staff without any hesitation. The second room was an upgrade from the first one and was in a much quieter part of the hotel so we are very appreciative of that. "Enjoyed a pleasant short stay here as a family. Service in the pub/restaurant/breakfast was prompt and friendly and food was good quality and value. Our room was unexpectedly warm for the time of year, despite radiators being turned-down but there was already a good fan in the room to counter this. "We arrived early and the room was ready so we got straight in. When we walked in we all just went wow, we weren't expecting so much space and such a quirky room steeped in character and fun. "The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. "We had a fabulous 4 night stay at the Holly Bush. As soon as we stepped into the pub, we received a warm greeting from the new owners and staff. The pub is at the heart of the community and welcomes a mix of both locals and guests, which makes it a special place to stay. Everyone seems relaxed and happy to chat to each other which makes for a really pleasant atmosphere. The chef is excellent and cooks a variety of dishes which he constantly updates.
