"We booked a room for 3 adults. Only 1 pillow each, no bedside cabinets, 1 teaspoon. I know there was a communal kitchen but a microwave would have been a nice touch and some cutlery and crockery. Bathroom was awful, small, 1 loose tap and an impossible to use small sink, if you bent over to actually spit your toothpaste into the sink, you hit your head on the soap dispenser very inconveniently located jus above sink! Paid $166 for it, expected a bit more tbh. Won't be going back there I'm...

"Nice original hotel. Clean rooms. Was the only person staying so a bit strange. Only down side was the skylight above the bed. woke me up in the morning."

"Rates as a good property, wee bit out of town but great parking, great bed. Seems to suit commercial travellers for one night stays. Huge bathroom but tiny shower......could not touch your toes if you bend over. Reception was efficient but man was not overly friendly...would have been nice to have a rather warmer welcome"

"Great stay, loved how close the property was to the beach. Parking was really easy being right next to it. The unit was comfortable and tidy. Could do with a few more pots, and the blinds cleaning in the main bedroom as there is mould on the inside. Overall great stay, would come back again"

"Our experience with ‘Moongate villa’ was disappointing because on our 2nd day, some building works began next door which woke us up at 8.00am in the morning and the cement pouring and flattening machines started working. It’s no exaggeration to say that the whole of our building vibrated to the machines being used. As for the noise all of this created, it was horrendous! The owners of ‘Moongate villa’ agreed to give us 1 x night free of charge. Please confirm that you can refund us this back...

"Very comfortable stay which I extended due to the post cyclone weather. Walking distance about 200m to main street shops and restaurants which is handy when parking difficult due to school holidays. Modern room and bathroom with heated towel rail. "

"Beautiful one night stay in Kerikeri. Apartment was beautifully presented amongst wonderful greenery. The location was close to Kerikeri centre and other sites. We were really impressed and would stay again at the drop of a hat."
