"Firstly, on arrival the allocated bays all had bollards on. I called up and a staff member eventually came out and removed this. Parking is literally opposite the hotel and at £15 a night - till 1pm the following day I was told. Checking in was very easy - I did note the staff member asked if they could do anything for me. "The small double room (322) we had has windows facing an inner yard where the large metal cooking vent/hoods are located. The room has no aircon and we were provided with 2 floor fans but in the heatwave they were hardly effective and the windows had no breeze. The bathroom is compact and only useable for one person at a time. Rooms decorated well and in good repair, plenty of lighting options including under wall mounted side tables. Hallway floors were uneven - lumpy and bumpy carpet."

"Ideal location for us, just a short 10-min walk to the town centre. Our room was spacious and bathroom appeared recently renovated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. As it is a very old building, the floorboards were a bit creaky and woodwork (skirting boards, window frames, architraves) looked tired with their years of layered paint, but we had a comfortable stay.
