"We had a really nice stay here. The hotel is well located on the edge of town so it was easy to go out for meals and walk to local attractions. It’s also 10 mins walk from the train station. Parking was easy to access. The staff were all really helpful, particularly the gentleman on reception ( I think his name was Chester). "We have stayed at the Hopping Hare a few times. It is a great pub, the food is very good, and the staff are very helpful. We would recommend the Hopping Hare to anyone. Only down side is getting to the rooms can be a little tricky - narrow passage ways and stairs."

"We were concerned that staying in a pub might be noisy but you couldn’t hear those in the pub or outside noise. The room was a good size, but with a character property comes a few negatives. Firstly the stairs to the second floor were steep and narrow. Floors are uneven, slope and creak. The bed was too soft for us but the pillows too hard. "We arrived at 17:45 on the Sunday, to find that the kitchen closed at 18:00. We had just walked 14 miles as part of our Grand Union Canal walk for Yorkshire Cancer Research. The staff were very accommodating and we were well fed! The shock was when we received the receipt for the meals and a few beers and a 10% service charge had been added. We were not asked whether we wanted to pay that. Given the circumstances, we would probably have agreed to it, but it would have been nice to be asked. "
