"A very nice upscale hotel next to Lake Ashi. The hotel is new and conveniently located for public transportation. Easy to get to the cable car, bus stop, and the famous pirate ship ferry accross the lake. We stayed for two nights and it was enjoyable and enough. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is spread over two interconnected buildings and we stayed in the middle one. The first, small building is for the common areas and the next long building is the guest rooms. "This was recommended to us by our tour guides in Japan and it is a fantastic hotel. The food in the restaurant caters to every background and everything we tried was delicious. The hotel is older but has heritage and a great vibe because of it, and is very clean. The service was excellent as well. I went for a run one morning in the surrounding area and it is very quiet and enjoyable for a morning run or walk. Highly recommended in a very quiet "town" of Hakone."

"My husband and I are both vegetarians, and the chef was able to make delicious vegetarian meals for us. The dinner we had was one of the best of our time in Japan. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room and private onsen were relaxing, and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The staff went above and beyond by providing us a ride to the Open Air Museum and then to the train station. We had an incredible time and would very highly recommend staying here!!"
