"No AC, very warm hotel and rooms. Arrived late yet despite calling and telling reception there was no one around at arrival. Had to walk around and find someone. Rooms and hotel very dated. No bottled water. Breakfast experience felt very weird and unwelcoming. Tried to check out next day but again no one on reception so eventually just left!"

"The food was very good and staff great. Grace was a wonderful server. The inn is certainly olde and genuine. Not a pretend olde . Rooms are very unusual with individual names. All are separate from the pub. Obviously the pub is the main venue for the local population. The room was modest size but had two TVs. The shower floods the bathroom. Not a big deal."

"I will not be staying at checkers again. As you know weather in uk in quite hot at present so loss of power to all plugs was very bad. Room was on second floor so very hot. With no fans had to open window. But then traffic noise as on main road very bad."

"What a fabulous place to stay. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The pub and the outdoor areas are wonderful the food and drinks plentiful and delicious. We stayed in Bluebell room which had everything you could possibly need including toiletries water tea/coffee iron in fact all you need is your clean undies 😂 added bonus we sat and watched the world cup final outside with a great bunch of people from all over the world.
