We requested (and booked) a family room, on arrival, we were given two double rooms opposite each other. Not a problem for our 1 night stay, but it could have been. "Had a lovely relaxing time with my girlfriend and her husband, room was so clean and had everything we needed, absolutely loved being able to log into Netflix on the tv which was a great size. We were checked in by a lovely young man who also served us our food, he was very attentive and even brought us extra sides for our burgers. "My second stay at the Portland Hotel, Ashington and once again, they excelled. Staff could not be more friendly and welcoming (Jess and the guy behind the bar, sorry I forgot your name) looked after me very well. Room (I stayed in one of the rooms out back in the purpose built rooms) was lovely. Great to have a fridge in the room and a very comfy bed. Kept beautifully clean (Thanks housekeeping) and contained everything a traveller could want in a hotel room. Desk space, plenty of power sockets...
