"Two night stay whilst hiking in the area. Convenient underground parking, spotlessly clean room, excellent facilities, friendly staff, refreshing approach to recycling. Only negative being classic Northern European hotel air-conditioning that won’t go below 16 degrees or act as a fan. When the weather is 23 degrees outside with no wind, guests need air conditioning."

"Sehr schöne, saubere und modern eingerichtete Unterkunft. Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Unterkunft war sehr gut und auch vollständig ausgestattet. Frühstücksbuffet reichhaltig und lecker. Restaurant auch sehr empfehlenswert mit schöner Aussicht im Freien. Wellnessbereich leider nicht genutzt, war aber bei der Besichtigung auch sehr einladend. Wir waren zum Familienurlaub mit 3 Kindern 4 Tage dort und fühlten uns wirklich gut aufgehoben. "

"One of the best hotels I have stayed. No A/C but not needed at least in September. Parking is at the back of the hotel. The restaurant has very good dining options (including vegetarian). The town and the views from the room are stunning. Couldn’t recommend more! "

"We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed it. The outside facing rooms are more expensive but we had an inside west facing room on the second floor (looking onto a very large grassed area) which still had amazing views of the mountains. Nothing to dislike about this hotel."

" The hotel is located in small community and very quiet. Very nice rooms. We stayed there to tour The Eagles Nest and it was very close. We arrived a little late and they were great about it and hung around until we arrived. We weren’t real late but they showed great customer service. The breakfast bar was really good as well. I would definitely recommend staying here!"

"Great location. Went with family and booked 3 rooms. The Mediterranean buffet was excellent. Convenient and walkable to shopping. Just had one encounter with one staff who gave me a hard time a day after we checked in questioning me about all 3 reservations I made which I already detailed in an email to them prior to our arrival. "

"Explorer Hotel Berchtesgaden exceeded our expectations. The rooms -- with all having an amazing view -- provides a very efficient use of space. The breakfast buffet is outstanding -- offering an array of delicious items. And the service staff was top notch. And you can't find a better location to the popular attractions. "The location of this resort is amazing. We stayed here on our last night of 3 hiking through Salzburg. The lunch has several options and a better selection than breakfast. The spa, saunas and jacuzzi were amazing. I wish there were signs explaining the sauna and spa procedures in English for those who don't simply know that it is required to be nude.
