We arrived at the property excited to stay in what looked online to be a lovely Georgian suite. When we arrived the exterior of the property was damaged and dirty which concerned us but we hoped the inside would be a different matter. The lobby area etc looks as though it hadn’t been well maintained or cleaned at all. We checked in and went up the stairs to our room. When we went in we instantly started spotting paint peeling from the walls, poor finishes, stains on the carpets and all of the seating and more issues. Upon further inspection, we discovered mould in the shower, sinks and on the mattress. The bed looks dirty as if the sheets hadn’t been washed fully and there was even a huge patch of damp on the wall. The room smelled foisty even with the windows open. Outside the windows was a small balcony style area which was overgrown with weeds and had pillars missing. We were deeply concerned for our safety and health here so we made the decision to leave. The staff member at reception was helpful and apologetic offering to arrange further cleaning but these issues were beyond a quick clean. We had to book another hotel last minute out of pocket at a significantly higher cost. We were promised a call from the hotel manager but never heard anything. This is not was you expect for the expensive price paid! I would avoid at all costs.
