"Excellent workshops everyday incl walking tours (not a good guide though), lobby amenities were great, reception staff helpful, Expedia room upgrade wasn’t available, carpet in the room not good. Location is fantastic, restaurant was average for dinner though breakfast was very, very good."

"The room and bed were comfortable, although a bit tricky with the slanted ceilings and my 6’5” husband. I believe I requested a river view which is probably why they put us on the 5th floor. The elevator only goes to the 4th, so you need to be able (or ask the staff to help you to) get your luggage up to the top floor. Everything was neat and clean, a bit cozy but comfortable, the breakfast was very nice and the staff very helpful."

"This was a fabulous place. I would highly recommend it. Our family of 5 fit perfectly. Even though we only there for one night at the end of trip, it was amazing. I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were so friendly, information and personable. We had great conversations with them at the lovely quaint bar. We will definitely return!!"

"We loved our studio room at the House on Pink Street. Joanna was very helpful during check in. My hubby and I were celebrating our 50th anniversary. She gifted us a bottle of wine and cupcakes- such a special treat! The street can be a bit noisy at night do to the restaurants and bars but we were not bothered by it."

"An elegant hotel, quite grand and very nicely decorated to fit the period of the building. Staff were very helpful. Good location, few bars and places to eat nearby. About 15 minutes walk to the busier parts of the city. Loved the library on the to floor and balcony. Honesty bar a nice touch. Room and bathroom very spacious. "

"The hotel and amenities were amazing, but the staff made this stay INCREDIBLE. SO friendly and accommodating. My son left a few beloved stuffed animals behind, and the hotel staff found them and shipped them to us at home in the USA within a week! Not only that, they sent us a personalized laminated book where they wrote about the plushies' adventures and photoshopped them into various locations around portugal. The bathroom was not clean enough, the rooms were very small, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the property. Additionally, the guests did not fully respect the house rules, which made the experience uncomfortable. While the location is a positive point, the overall quality and cleanliness need significant improvement."

"My wife and I had a lovely stay here. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was a good size and had a good view over the gardens and river. The staff were wonderful and the service was excellent. The food was first class. The hotel is in a quiet area and a little removed from the shops, museums etc but that was fine for us. "
