"Really, comfortable, nice room, staff great at check-in but had limited chance to sample anything else as 1 day trip and away early. Getting to Liverpool and back more of a challenge than expected on public transport, especially journey back after 11 so maybe budget for a cab if that's your plan."

It’s a really convenient base if you’re visiting the North West – just off the motorway, with plenty of parking and easy to find. "The victoria lodge was very conveniently located in the village, there was good but limited parking. The room was compact but clean and usable. Breakfast was excellent and throughout the staff was very helpful and attentive."

"Was a short stop before I travelled by ferry, checked in late, had clear instructions from the owner, great communication. Room was really spacious, very comfortable bed and pillows. Included robes to use and a large bath sheet, which if you stay at hotels regularly you’ll appreciate! Really impressed overall with the booking, far nicer than I expected. Great area too. Safe, quiet and close to anything you might need"

"Overall the property is lovely, it was very clean, had a very comfortable bed, it was a very quiet area, and very close to all shops and bars, only issues was with the shower and toilet seat, the shower was so hot and we couldnt get it to cool down as the knob was too stiff and it was very tight once the doors was closed the toilet seat was loose and paint on bathroom wall was peeling of behind the door but apart from that we enjoyed our stay very much and if the issues were sorted we would...
