"Breakfast is hot and tasty, comfy room, great shower and a nice pint of cruz campo too."

"Stayed for one night, which happened to be the hottest night of the year. Not the hotels fault, but the window in the room would not open. Hotel did supply fans but made little difference. Major issue was after a night in a 30 degree room there was no water for a shower, or the toilet. Spoke to manager who was stressed but apologetic who said the mains were off due to an issue which he hoped would be fixed at some point…. We left quickly to find somewhere to shower and was asked at reception if...

"This is a hidden gem. It's a charming old manor house with very comfortable rooms and lovely food. The staff can't do enough for you and are extremely helpful. It's set in its own grounds, completely hidden from the road with no noise apart from birdsong and the whispering of the trees."

"Was good for 1 night stay. Breakfast was nice. Staff super helpful and friendly. Only negative was the slamming doors at night. The bedroom doors require a good slam to shut them so this made it a little disruptive at night. Other than that it was a great little place to stay."

"Always live the diner, but cannot say the same for the tvs - they rarely respond to their remotes and this time a member of staff have to come and power off the wall switch (you can’t risk it yourself in case the tv crashes to the floor)."

Deshalb habe ich für meine Frau extra eine Suite gebucht – was man uns zunächst gab, war allerdings eine Frechheit: ein dunkles Loch mit Blick auf eine Ziegelwand. Warum versucht man eigentlich immer wieder, Ausländern die schlechtesten Zimmer zuzuschieben? Nach längerer Diskussion bekamen wir immerhin eine helle und geräumige Suite, inklusive Entschuldigung. "The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful."

"Stayed for one night in Room 8, room was clean, spacious and well equipped looking out onto the garden. Full English breakfast was really good, although tea and coffee were extra cost. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall a great short stay, we will definitely visit again! "

"The hotel really caters for big events etc. and was almost empty when I stayed. I only met the receptionist who was efficient, friendly and helpful. The hotel is very large and set in its own grounds and gardens. For my stay it was very quiet - I can't comment on when it is full and busy. However, my stay was during the latest heatwave and my bedroom was without air conditioning and uncomfortably hot. The public rooms were cool and comfortable and so I sat in the empty bar -not drinking - to...

"Very helpful and accommodating staff. We requested a room change that was quickly sorted out. Delightful treats at reception and delicious breakfast. Location and parking is also a bonus."

"Had to remove 2 spiders from the room on 2 consecutive days. Cushions very squishy and not supportive, didn’t sleep well. Others in our group had same issue. Beds were on high the side for someone 5’7’ and on the firm side."
