"Lively, friendly pub with rooms around the corner from the main High St. Clean and tidy rooms. Good value. Limited parking when busy. As with rooms above pubs it is quite noisy but pretty well sound insulated and the pub closes relatively early. Staff were pleasant, helpful yet unintrusive. The room we had did not have main lighting so was very dark even with the side lights on and if you opened the blinds people on the street could see in - especially from the flat across the road. Perfect stop en-route to Southampton for cruising. Staff were so polite and accommodating. We arrived with 9 mins to spare before kitchen closed and we were served one of the best steak meals I have ever had. Brilliant! Cannot recommend this place enough. "
