"The hotel was quintessential NOLA..small intimate full of character being an older space. The hotel being aged does not mean it has to smell awful. Since they have no air conditioning it was very damp and hot and smelled like mold and mildew. The rooms also only had a small window unit which did not really cool the room in the summer heat. The attached bar was also hot and smelled bad. Staff was very kind is the only good thing I can say about this hotel."

"We loved our stay at Mayfair. The one bedroom apartment was clean, modern and comfortable. The fully furnished small kitchen was functional and very practical to prepare breakfast in the modern before going out for the day or for midday snack."

"He had a wonderful stay. The staff was helpful and always smiling. The room was clean and beautiful decor. It is in a perfect location near shops and eateries. The restaurant downstairs is pricey. The food came out lukewarm for only a few guests sitting there. The server was wonderful. It was only one downside to the room. We had to go upstairs to use the bathroom There was no bathroom where the living area is located. Other than that I give this property four stars. We really enjoyed our stay!"

"The room was great! The patio was huge but was shared with 4 other rooms. Plenty of space if everyone was out there. Bathroom was a tad small but with it being just me and my husband it wasn’t an issue. If you don’t want to hear music all night… don’t request a room on Bourbon st. We loved it but it was loud till 4-5 in the morning!"

"The bed was very comfortable! I would not recommend the top bunk, if you are older than 20. The laundry room needs some way to track the people that are using the machines as the staff was not willing to manage taking out guest clothes when they were not prompt to remove from machines. Overall I would stay there again it was convenient. Bring a sleeping eye mask if you need a nap during the day hours."

"This hotel has been around since 1902, and honestly, that's part of its charm. If you're expecting a brand-new, glass-and-steel luxury hotel, this probably isn't your place. If you appreciate history and character, you'll likely enjoy it. Just remember: no amount of modern upgrades can change the fact that the building is over a century old. They *can*, however, make it a comfortable place to stay—and I thought they did a good job of that. The only real disappointment for me was the morning...
