"Arrived and checked in quickly. Efficient young chap did all the preliminaries and we headed to our room. Room was in the main building at the front. "Everything was wonderful EXCEPT no air conditioning so the whole hotel felt like a sauna (we were there during a heat wave in May) and they didn’t do table service for dinner so we had to order our food and drinks from the bar, which isn’t the end of the world but knocks a star off the rating. Room was super cute, well decorated, the bathroom was really nice, loved the shower and it was very clean. "Nice welcome, even though very late arrival. Room spacious, comfortable and had a great sleep but decor could do with a refresh, especially in en-suite ( which was nice and big, with bath). Breakfast: great value. Donna very helpful, professional and friendly. Lovely stay. Would definitely stay again when travelling on this route. Big Sainsbury's nearby, with petrol station. Hotel only just over ½ an hour from ferry terminal."

"If you’re looking for the cutest true English village this is it!!! Very remote, but fantastic, had a wonderful dinner, and cocktails. The staff, were wonderful, from the young bartender, waiter at dinner, but the women that served breakfast was just the kindness and interesting, l could chat with her for hours. Book this place! "Het ontbijt was goed en uitgebreid. Er waren verschillende soorten vers fruit, warme gerechten en nog veel meer. Erg vriendelijk personeel. De kamer was heel klein en warm. We hadden een piep klein raam daardoor kwam er weinig frisse lucht binnen. De matras was smal en oud. Je voelt de veren erdoor komen. Ik zou niet meer terug gaan naar dit hotel."

"Very nice hotel. Great food and the staff couldn't be anymore helpful. Make sure to book a room with air-conditioning in the summer though as the hotel can get quite warm. Overall, a great stay in a nice quiet woodland location with wild deer spotted roaming the grounds. Would stay here again if in the Basingstoke area."

"The rooms are beautifully presented and the amenities were really nice. For a travel stop it was very convenient and the staff are friendly. The carpets in the rooms are suffering from wear and tear and could do with a better clean. The rooms needs a bit more of a clean in general. The shower also started dripping in both rooms (which were at other ends of the property) at around 3am which woke us up. "Bed was comfortable and breakfast very nice. Negatives - no air con on a very hot day/night and shower problematic. Couldn’t avoid getting hair wet, shower head too high to adjust and no soap in dispenser. Otherwise all good."
